Sunset Gardens Guesthouse

Staff were courteous and helpful. Accommodations were neat and clean. I used the cottages for a temporary stay while attempting to locate a long-term rental. Cottages are a little removed from everything, but the price was right and the stay helped me rent my place while getting acclimated to the island. No complaints.

Yes clean room and friendly staff

This was a last minute booking after having to leave another VRBO that was too bad to stay in with strong mildew problems. This location was okay but not close to amenities location wise. The hotel just above it that I first went to in error in the dark (same driveway) was pretty nice and they helped find the right place, so that just made getting to this room more disappointing. Parking was good, the owner (I assume) or at least person managing the reception was super nice and helpful. They clearly had a rough time dealing with hurricane damage and I feel for them, but on vacation you don'e want to experience other folks problems. The room had a nice view, but the love stopped there. The lighting was so dim you almost couldn't see. It was actually hard to capture with a cell phone camera because of the low light! The funny thing was they got dimmer the longer you left them on. The bed mattress was pretty aged I think and you could hear the worn springs in it and it was a bit lumpy. It was a short stay so we just lived with it and it was a last minute save after a horrible experience at another booking we had to walk out of even if we lost the investment, so we were glad for that. I thought long about even saying anything, but I also hope nobody else has a letdown either... so here you go!

Just stayed for a night due to an aircraft mechanical issue preventing us from leaving as scheduled. Wonderful stay with quite a view! I'd want to have a car when staying here so I could maximize what I could see or do since the cabs are astronomical here. I will definitely consider staying here when we return.

The property was very clean and neat everything about the property was wonderful, but it is on top of the mountain. That’s the only bad thing. Lol

Affordable,has all necessities, somewhat close to stores. The staff was great. I loved it. I would stay again.

A good feel. Kind of felt at home. I saw a gum on the bed head which kinda shows they don’t pay attention to certain areas when cleaning.

If you want to feel like a local, book you stay at sunset gardens. The views are amazing!! The coziness of the rooms feels like ur own tiny apartment nestle out the way in the hills. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked perfectly, hot water was great, overall just a chill comfortable spot

Friendly staff but the building is so old,closet mirror door about to fall off,couch is dirty,microwave is not placed on a flat surface (tilted),many mosquitoes and cochroach

There were a few steps in the hallway to the rooms which were not very obvious because the floor was the same. I took a bad fall when I didn’t notice one because I was looking at the room numbers. There needs to be a sign or some type of warning.

I loved the view. But was able to walk to beach. No sidewalk in the area. Very hilly

We arrived late about 7pm to find out office was closed and there was no phone number or way to check in. We were not notified at time of booking about this. If expedia doesn't like my review the don't waste my time asking for one.
