Friendly staff, clean, comfortable room.

The whole package! Great vibe and lovely room , was quiet when I wanted quiet and fun otherwise. Solid food and drink with patio options and fantastic location. I wish them all the best!

Pontcanna Inn is a funky place to stay, the room was clean, spacious and boutique style. The vibe of the bar area downstairs was fun and cool during the daytime, we arrived on a Saturday. We were visiting for a concert and it was a great location to the Principality Stadium. When we arrived back at the hotel after the concert, it was a very different vibe. It was extremely busy, full of the younger generation drinking, sticky floors, lots of empty glasses and felt uninviting to hotel guests. We wanted to have a drink before heading to our room, but couldn’t get served at the busy bars and there was no where to sit as it was so busy. We ended up walking to the local garage to get drinks for the room. The noise downstairs was loud but stopped after about 12:30pm when they have stopped serving at the bars. It would be nice if they had a quieter section of the Inn for hotel guests. Also there was nothing to stop anyone waking up to the rooms where guests are staying. They have door men, but they are very pre occupied with the busyness of the bars. We did not stay for breakfast because only a few hours prior it was in quite a mess. I realise this is an Inn, but the environment it became was was not for us at all, which was ashame because our initial reactions were all positive.

Really great staff. The room was spacious and some nice touches. Air con would have been good but the fan in room was welcome. Was expecting a bit of noise but didn't notice anything. Breakfast was tasty but was unsure what was/not included. Great location for stadium which is why we stayed there. Would go again for sure.

Really nice place. Was only there for one night for Oasis gig. Room quite small but really nice. Great shower and everything you need for nice stay. Clearly the price I paid had been hiked because of the concert but that applies to every hotel in Cardiff. Overall I was really happy with my stay

The accommodation was awesome. Perfect stay for a girls night away. The bar downstairs was great and staff really friendly and happy to help. Spot on location for easy walk into the city.

Really great place to stay

Rooms were excellant, breakfast was really good but best of all the most dog friendly place I've everstayed!! This was an extremely busy Saturday night pub where I sat at the bar with my dog also sat on a stool. When door security come over and make a fuss of your dog and go and get some treats, it was just brilliant. A really lovely stay. I won't make the mistake of asking for a full English for breakfast in a Welsh pub again!!!

Great stay - efficient check in and comfortable rooms

I have stayed here before for work, it is convenient for city and the customer, staff are friendly and helpful, a good selection of ales and food. The rooms are very comfortable and clean.

The room was lovely & spacious & recently decorated. It had everything we needed. The shower was hot & the water flow excellent. Bed was comfortable. Cannot fault it

Great place to stay. Becky helped me with information over the phone before I arrived. I had my dog with me and all the staff loved her. The room itself was fantastic, very big, clean and had everything i needed. The manager conversed with me like he'd known me years and the location was great for what I needed (dog walking areas). This accommodation is treble the price without the level of service in that there London. Will hopefully stay there again in future.

This hotel is in a fantastic location near a beautiful park, which leads to the castle and across to the other side of town. I arrived just after food service had ended, but diners were still enjoying their meals, and everything looked delicious. My room was lovely, located right at the top of the building, though I didn’t see any lift access, which might be a limitation for those with mobility issues. The room itself was beautifully decorated, with a large, comfortable bed and an oversized shower. I also appreciated the cozy sofa and desk, which made it easy to work in the space. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for anyone staying in Cardiff!

Dirty, stained carpet. Wallpapper / paint peeling off the walls and celling in the bathroom. Dirty corners all around the shower base. Dirty windows, unable to be closed. Scaffolding outside of the property. Guests of pub just under your window, loud until 1am.

Rooms are nice and a good location. Nice little bottled water, tea, coffee and milk selection. Blind didnt work fully in my room so had sunlight in early and my room was above a court yard so was conscious people could see in with my light on! Be cautious that the rooms are above a bar so it is very noisy!

The bed was comfortable and shower was good. That is all I can say on the positive side. We were ignored by the proprietor when we came in - in fact not sure if they got their payment as there was no one around at all when we left at 9:00 the next day. The room and bathroom were in serious need of a good cleaning, lots of dust and the room needs a makeover as there is stuff running down the wall (not sure what). No towel racks in the bathroom and the heated rack was so dirty we didn’t want to hang towels on it. No breakfast served. No parking allotted- we had to locate something legal on the street. We had no tv remote at first and when we asked someone they said “ it’s a luck of the draw”. They did borrow one from another room. We had lots of luggage because we are on an extended journey and our room was up about 4 flights of stairs with no elevator. All in all I would not recommend.
