Last time out was great. This could have been better but for a few things out of place.

Couldnt have a shower as plug wouldnt come out of the bath even when you turned the knob reported but nothing was done about it apart from that was good

An event on at the ICC and they only had a couple of staff working reception so there was a long wait for check in. Room was fine but it would be nice to have a bottle of water on the room

Stayed for work. Beautiful hotel with lovely facilities. Shame my room was opposite a doorway to the stairs, lots of banging. The hairdryer was broken. The lights didn’t all work in the room. But overall is was authentic.

Room okay and beds comfy but some bottled water in the room would be nice, also limited toiletries availiable especially in a hotel of this standard

Thoroughly recomend. We were a group of friends heading to the rugby in Cardiff so the contrast of the serenity of the Manor house hotel to Cardiff City Centre was just absolutely heaven. Fantastic breakfast, lovely room, amazing kingsize bed. Just generally an amazing stay beit all to brief

Room was nice, we couldnt get much help on checking in/were things where so that is why it isnt 5*.

The breakfast was nice, there was a good variety of food. However; when we booked our stay, we paid over £220 for 2 Nights in a very basic room and then when I went to check us in online, we were asked to pay a further £200 for a pre-authorisation charge for any incidentals or charges back to the room. This wasn’t mentioned upon booking the accommodation and took us by surprise. I rang the Celtic Manor to ask if this was correct as I hadn’t received any notification of this in any of the emails. The attitude of the lady I spoke to was awful and I was made to feel like an idiot. To add to the already disappointing stay, we ordered room service and charged it to the room as the money was on the room account - this has been confirmed by a lovely lady named Ellen on the Friday night. When the waiter on room service arrived, he told us that there was a £40 charge for our order - this consisted of 2 ham sandwiches with coleslaw that did not taste the best, 2 chocolate bars and 2 bottles of Pepsi. We explained that we had charged it to the room, to which the waiter then replied that there was no money in the room account. Upon check-out, I queried this and was told that there was money on the room account and that we shouldn’t have been charged £40. My frustration and patience with the Celtic Manor has worn thin this weekend. I feel that they take advantage of the guests staying at the resort.

Poor service/welcome upon check-in. Hotel is past its prime. Tatty carpets, broken drawers. No free water. Fine for one night.
