We stay exclusively at this hotel whenever we are in Portland. I enthusiastically encourage anyone else to do the same!

We had to move our room 3 times because of different issues in each one. First room: the shower was bad and the tub was semi stucked, the water would flood to ankle level while showering; Second room: there are visible bedbugs on the sheet; Third room: abnormal consistent machenical noise in the room, making it impossible to fall asleep; Fourth room: finally they moved us to an acceptable room, but the room has a twin bed instead of a queen. It's not what we paid for and they said that was the only available room they had left. We lost a jacket during the moving and it took them 3 nights to find it. Btw, it was the very first time that i stayed at a hotel or motel that didn't have a coffee machine in the room :(

Helpful staff

I was staying in town for the Thorns game and a book event downtown at Grand Gesture Books and this was a perfect location for walking to both. First time staying here and I will definitely be back, great experience beginning to end with the staff, the room, cleanliness, all of it.

Very safe around the area and the staff are amazing. Cici/cc/sisi was amazing.

Perfect hotel. Wonderful food, beautiful room. Large & quiet. Great location. Fantastic decor. Old Hollywood black-and-white movie theme. Highly recommend.

We weren’t fans of the downtown area, we were happier exploring the neighborhoods across the water, but the hotel itself was great. The best pillows I’ve ever slept on , comfortable bed. Clean, cosy room, great shower. All of the staff we met, day, eve and nightshift were all lovely.

Close to event we were attending. Walkable and safe.

Shower water came out brown when turned on and the shower hook for shower to stay on broke off.

Been staying at this hotel for over 20 years, love it's classic style, high ceilings..bath tubs. Excellent service, check in. Miss the Turner classic movie tv station that so complimented a stay. A few recent changes, a shame the delicious breakfast at classic Gracies restaurant is only open weekends. The hotel should quit with the sickly sweet air freshener that a guest smells entering the hotel.

We were upgraded but the room had no heat and a hair dryer. I mentioned this to the hotel staff and they gave me a credit which was unexpected. However, I still haven’t received a receipt. I might have to follow up with the hotel staff again.

BE PEPREARED TO GET CHARGED AN EXTRA 200. They made me pay a mandatory extra $200. $60 for amenities like WiFi , bar discount, gym and some other BS I wasn’t gonna use. Then the $140-$150 is for leverage incase your trash your hotel. But you do get the refund of the $140 3-4 days later. I just disliked the random blindside hey that’s gonna be an another $200. (Where’s that info when you book) I only stayed 2 nights. I didn’t need access to the gym. & oh ya you DONT get that $60 back for the amenities. So make sure you come prepared if you wanna stay here. It was very clean though.

It has charm and character and the staff understands how to please. It's also wonderfully intimate and quiet. Gracie's has the best benedict and the Driftwood room is a perfect respite at the end of the day (recommend the salmon.)
