I checked in and immediately the hotel did not look like the pictures. There were people arguing outside. As I walked to my room the walls were stained and peeling, they had the tiniest elevator with the buttons falling out. The room next door had people slamming the doors and there were literal trash bags outside another room. Inside the room, the curtains did not close the bathroom walls and the bed sheets had stains. I left less than an hour later and gave the keys to the front desk and told them I was checking out early but it seems they did not check me out because I was getting texts as if I was still there. I contacted Expedia and they tried to get me a refund but the property which is independently owned did not do anything to try to correct this. The price does not match what you are paying for.

TV was not working the first night. Was moved to a different room that was smelly.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was nice - close to grocery store and restaurants, but quiet. Breakfast was alright - not a huge variety. Our room was mostly clean, but a little dingy - a bit of food stuck to the wall next to the garbage can. The shower door wasn't hung correctly, so it didn't seal and flooded the bathroom floor every time someone showered.

Workers and customers propping doors open, and people coming in left and right, room and hallway had a constant smell of marijuana. Room was not cleaned, I was booked for two nights.

The only negative is the front desk people did not display a positive and friendly demeanor.

Stains on the sheets, loud neighbors, and workers who don’t speak a lick of English and act like you’re mentally challenged for asking for help.

This hotel used very deceptive photos-the room itself was ok-but the hotel and grounds was a mess-trash EVERYWHERE around the grounds-breakfast was terrible- eggs cold & inedible the bread & cereal were the only things to be able to eat. I had to talk to the hotel 2 times about security issues 1) someone propped open the side door on the hall. I noticed it in the morning and it was still propped open in the afternoon when we returned-there were random sketchy people (guests?) loitering all around the building. I told the desk person and he came and took out the black box that was propping open the door… but…he left it there? See photo-also I was disappointed that employees had gone past the propped open door all day and didn’t fix it. Next, my daughter & I were swimming in the pool (towel pile empty so no towels ) and we saw a random person sitting in their car in the back parking lot with the door open for about 5 minutes-he then got out & walked right up to the outside door and walked right in!! That door was supposed to be locked! We were the only ones in the pool & a predator could have easily overcame me & my daughter. I told the front desk( same guy )& he seemed surprised and supposedly went to lock the door. I grew up going the country inn in California & am so disappointed at what’s happened. It used to be a quality hotel with a delicious breakfast & happy hour with popcorn, nachos, soft drinks etc We were in town for a soccer tournament & had a choice

the hotel is in a bery bad condition the rooms ar ekept well the breakfast is so ordinary it feels like we are not on a vacation

We were very pleasantly surprised by the location. The hotel is fairly brand new with two other brand new hotels right near it as well as a Meijer store and gas station. My daughter loved that there was even a Chick Filet right around the corner. The hotel itself was very clean, quiet, the rooms were spacious, the staff was friendly, and my daughter was thrilled with her breakfast options, especially the biscuits and gravy. She plays soccer tournaments in the Grand Rapids area quite alot and we will definitely be adding this location's Country Inn and Suites to our options when we stay in the Grand Rapids area.

We checked in at midnight after a long flight only to spend 30 min trying to get the hotel door to open. The front desk person reprogrammed the key 3 times and it still didn’t work and they didn’t have any other rooms available so we had to leave and find another hotel to stay at in the middle of the night. We were told when we left we would be refunded our money for the stay but the next day the manager told us he would only refund me for one night and we had to come back and stay the remaining 4 nights because they now had another room available, which we wouldn’t do because we had already moved to another hotel for our 5 night trip. We eventually got our money back after having to make a big fuss about it, but the whole experience wasted a bunch of time on our vacation.
