The room had a gorgeous view of the river. But for the price point the bathroom and room amenities were disappointing (no coffee maker, no mini fridge, bathroom had one of those tubs with no glass or curtain so water got everywhere when you showered). Location is great. But was disappointed by the room, despite the gorgeous view.

Very nice location and wonderful breakfast. However, the room I booked which was not inexpensive was like an attic with tattered carpet and cramped layout with a quite small bed. The reception was very kind to give me another room, which at least had laminate floors and a more comfortable bed. The issue was, the windows, which overlooked the sealed off and very public winter garden were totally sealed shut, and therefore there was no possibility of fresh air. I was told it was for my safety, but after 3 nights of no fresh air, it did not feel very safe. On balance, housekeeping was excellent. The breakfast was sumptuous. And the location on the Soane was ideal. I would stay here again only if I were able to get a nicer room on a higher floor with windows that open and with natural light.

The staff at Le Phenix are amazing . Always friendly. I felt comfortable with them. They are gracious for we English speakers who have less than rudimentary French (I practiced! Really I did!) The rooms have good AC if necessary. The restaurant associated with the hotel is shockingly good. Such a wonderful lunch! We did not have the breakfast buffet because we eat so light, we did not find value. I do wish there was a hot water kettle in the room. Beds are comfortable. Our room was spacious. Housekeeping services were complete. Room was quiet. The location is convenient to many buses. We walked from Gare de Lyon part- Dieux, but I would recommend the C13 ir the TB 11 for an easier trip if you have bags. The location of Le Phenix is a perfect place to be close to Croix- Rousse, all the 1st and 2nd Arr’nt, the bus to Maison des Canuts, Fourviére, and all of Vieux Lyon. I want to make another shout out to the staff. And oh! The Jambone- Buerre sandwich as a picnic lunch? Just say oui merci!

This hotel was an excellent location for a short visit to Lyon. Short walk to restaurants and shops, and to the funicular to Basilique Notre Dame. Also, right on the Saone River. The hotel room was comfortable, although carpet was stained and looking tired. Carpet in hallways were also stained and tired. Furniture also had stains and was in need of deep clean or replacement. Breakfast was good and complimentary water for room was appreciated. Limited parking was available and must be reserved well in advance. 50 euro per day parking seemed high compared to the other hotels we stayed at on our driving trip through France. I would still recommend this hotel for location.

The location was very central so easy to walk everywhere. The room was very large and had a high ceiling which made it seem even bigger. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here for two nights. The location is excellent — only a two-minute walk from the train station. The staff were very professional and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Confortable et bien situé. Stationnement disponible mais coûteux. Pas de réfrigérateur dans la chambre, mais eau froide disponible à la réception.

The front desk staff was so helpful and friendly! The hotel was very clean. Great location. Breakfast was just right! We would definitely recommend Le Phenix Hotel to our friends and family. Will stay here the next time we are in Lyon!

The staff are kind and friendly. The breakfast provided was quite good. If anything to improve, the quilt was too heavy for the weather. It made sleeping well difficult.

Hotel is located on the River very near Old Town. Very clean and a lovely breakfast every morning. Staff is very helpful

This is a superbly located hotel. From it you can walk much of central Lyon. The hotel is a riverside converted townhouse that is quirky but practical.

Pænt hotel men opdagede desværre bed bugs på værelset den første aften så måtte skifte værelse. Generelt pænt og rent så sikkert ikke et udtryk for dårlig hygiejne men alligevel et chok at finde de kryb i sengen.

The whole staff where helpful and spared no effort in making my stay trouble free. Especially Mael. who assisted in helping me to organise my trips around Lyon. I will return to this hotel again so I can explore more of Lyon City. ( Phillip)

This property is very well located in the historic area of Lyon. It was very easy to walk to all the major sites from the hotel. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend staying at Le Phenix.
