Good hotel

Very clean,good location,very friendly,would stay again

The hotel was excellent in terms of service and facilities. The swimming pool, spa, and gym were outstanding and really enhanced our stay. The location was also perfect, making it easy to reach the main attractions. However, the bedding was a major disappointment. The mattress and overall bed quality were uncomfortable and felt far below the standard you would expect from a hotel of this quality. Improving the bedding would make the experience truly exceptional

Beautiful modernised Georgian building, marble floored and wooden revolving doors to reception, well mainted and beautifully appointed as you would expect. Helpful staff and plenty of easy access car parking for a centralised Birmingham hotel. Location is the key, 20 minutes walk takes you directly to the centre and the Bull Ring with high street shopping, positioned just outside to the left is the local tramstop (Edgbaston Village) and to the right a rail connection (Five Ways, Midland Rail), whilst driving brings you directly A4540 inner ringroad. Edgbaston cricket stadium is a good walk but still only circa 30 minutes away, whilst a plethera of resturants, bars and pubs are 5 to 10 minutes walk down Broad Street. Pleasant large double room with all the mod cons, clean airy bathroom with both bath and shower.

On arrival, we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who checked us in and helped with parking. All staff were incredibly friendly, and nothing was too much trouble, Our room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable.

Staff in the restaurant every morning were exceptionally friendly and helpful with any request. Breakfast selection was varied and plenty full. Rooms were clean and tidy. Staff on reception were friendly on arrival and on departure

Great location for town and the university for a graduation event. Bar man and gym staff were a bit grumpy but reception were helpful.

Stayed overnight with friends who were visiting. Our room was a good size, bathroom was clean and tidy.

Reception well maintained. Breakfast quite expensive for what it was. Disappointed to find out that a roll away bed is an extra £20. No mention of that on the website when we booked. Pillows in room are terrible Room is clean, bathroom a little tired Nice that there's a water refill station in reception Able to park, although there isn't a huge number of spaces Walking distance to the Utilita Arena (20mins or so) but far enough away to not hear the night life noise. Very pleasant, stylish property with excellent staff. We didn’t use any of the facilities but our room and the ambiance of the hotel were impressive. Parking at the hotel and convenient access into Birmingham on foot or by public transport.

Lovely stay. Rooms were clean and spacious. The bathroom was a bit dated but still clean and large. Beds were very comfy. Location was great for going into Birmingham. We ate two evening meals, both of which were very good and reasonably priced. Only downside was lack of bins - only one small one - a small thing but a bit frustrating.

Outdated monstrosity of a hotel. Damp smelling room, miserable staff and a terrible fly problem in the bar area. Windows were utterly filthy inside and outside. Marriott used to be a good standard mid range hotel. It’s in need of a big refurbishment and some efficient management. Worst hotel we have stayed in for a long time

We had an overnight stay. The room was quite spacious and clean. The bathroom was also clean. Overall, the room looks tired and could do with an update compared to other hotels in the city. The staff were polite and friendly. We had requested hypo allergenic bedding due to allergies and these were provided. Breakfast was good and buffet style, withplenty of choice of continental and cooked. There is parking which you pay onsite upon arrival.

We have stayed at this hotel before and it’s a clean and the staff are great and friendly. I do tend to chat with staff about anything and everything and they kindly listen to me wittering along without a vacant stare on their faces. It’s nice to have a car park in the grounds, although it’s charged for but the convenience is priceless. We will be staying again in September, Edgebaston Cricket ground is a walkable distance away and that’s our reason for our stay.

This hotel is ideal if you have a child at University of Birmingham. Close to Morrisons and Costa with a tram connection just past Morrison which can take you straight to the Bullring for £3.50 return.
