Planned this trip of a lifetime to do some deep sea fishing and enjoy the beech, had this hotel booked for months and when we arrived into town after hours of driving 2 hours early we called to see if we could check in early and they said to check with them at 2 we called back and they said check in was 3 so we ate killed some time and went in at 3 , room still not ready and they hoped it would be ready in 30 minutes it was not ready until 3:45 . Seemed to be a big event at this hotel and we were not part of it so we took a back seat that's fine. room was very dated , jacuzzi tub leaked. We checked out the next day due to family emergency and we got charged for having to leave early even though I am pretty sure they had no problem renting the room ,the parking at this hotel is a nightmare . Very pretty on the outside but we will not stay here again way to much money for what you get.

Great location, large rooms, easy walk to the beach and good value for the rate.

Amazing location in the heart of Dana Point without breaking the bank. Used the pool and enjoyed the views. Ate breakfast as a family each morning. Their coffee machine SLAPS. Family friendly. Water bottle filling stations nice feature. Only complaints: Had to request fresh towels a couple of times. Super slow elevator. Don’t love the daily parking fee. Felt excessive even though I was aware prior to booking.

Area is nice and walkable, hotel is older, my wife got an allergy we think because of old carpet, generally we like this hotel

This hotel is old and not very well kept up. It is dirty, the bathroom had mold on the ceiling and the overall cleanliness of the room was sub par.

Since it is a pet friendly hotel. Make sure rooms are sprayed for fleas. Felt like I had to itch a lot.

The beds need to be upgraded.

The bed was comfortable and loved the jetted hot tub in the room. Great location!! Very clean. Shower was luke water. Wished the room was cleaned at least one more time during the 4 night stay.

The breakfast was terrible. The room was clean but not in good shape and the outlets didn’t work. It was pretty depressing.

We turned the air conditioner off because it blew out smelly, dingy air. I thought I had smelled urine, but could have been from the air conditioner? I luckily packed a large garbage bag and used it as a cover to the ottoman that was gross and stained before daring to put luggage on it. The couch and side chair was also stained. We loved the location and the staff were great, but I wouldn't stay there again. The place needs a major overhaul. Also I never saw anyone actually in the pool... the water was freezing cold.

Location of walking distance from the beach is perfect! The staff was friendly. Is was clean.

This Best Western was really nice I gave it four stars only because the bathroom was dangerous. It’s is convenient to get to, parking was super easy, and the staff was really nice. The bathroom was pretty to look at but when you were on the toilet the toilet paper roll was in your side. The bath tub has a step to get into the nice jacuzzi tub it was getting out of the shower that was a little scary. Hopefully the other room have a better set up. I would still stay here again it was a wonderful weekend

Great location

I went to the room and it smelled like urine and the pool had sand and dirt at the bottom and bugs so I couldn’t even stay and checked out immediately. The staff was nice and refunded my money as they were aware of the problems.

Overall good stay with breakfast included. Parking extra fee. Decent sized room. Used pool also though it was not very clean. Overall, no major complaints.

Nice hotel in a nice area. We selpt well and the breakfast was good. Nothing special but satisfying. Our issues were with the cleanliness of the room. Carpet was a bit old and dirty and there was a musky smell. With that being said, it served it's purpose and we enjoyed our weekend. We would stay here again.

The front desk manager was rude and unprofessional. It seemed as though guest service was on the back burner for her and I'm not sure why. The hotel charges an early check in fee of $50 even if you're only an hour early and the room is ready. This is the first time I've ever paid an early check in fee for a room that was ready. On the brighter side, the room was comfortable and extremely clean. Housekeeping somewhat made up for the professionalism lacking at the front desk. The hotel is very close to the beach which is great.

We had an issue at check-in that held us up for about 30 minutes. We were scheduled to arrive on July 17 and then check out on July 18 and coming back on July 23 and staying until July 25. When we arrived, the girl at the front desk told us that the July 17 date had been changed to July 16 and we were no-shows. I told her we never changed anything. We were not in town on July 16. We then called hotels.com and they confirmed that our reservation was in fact for July 17 but it took quite a long time for them to work it out which we kind of thought was upsetting. if you had another room available and I’m showing you a confirmed reservation receipt just give us the room and that’s it, but it seemed to take a very long time And we had someone waiting for us that had given us a ride. So we weren’t happy about that. And we had a reservation for five days later and we’ve stayed at this hotel several times when coming to visit our son.
