The stay was lovely. The staff was friendly. The only thing that I didn't like 100% were the sheets - but everything else was a 10.

Classic older hotel in great location with excellent service. Great buffet breakfast and wine in afternoon with cookies at night. Short walk to beach and downtown with free shuttle if needed. A number of stairs to room. Not a big deal but could be with some walking issues.

The property is gorgeous and we loved everything about it! The staff was welcoming, the room was comfortable, the lobby was cozy, and breakfast on the patio with beautiful ocean views was our favorite part. I also loved being able to walk to the beach each day.

Hands-down, this is one of the most lovely experiences we have ever had at a hotel. It is historic and quaint, and the attention to detail is unparalleled. The breakfast is literally the best we have ever had anywhere in the world and that is not an exaggeration! Walking distance to town, but if you don’t feel like walking, there is free cab service included with the hotel love love love LaPlaya will definitely return if we can.

Oh my gosh, my daughter and I came here for a trip together and I really cannot say enough positive about it. If you are even considering coming here, do not hesitate. The location couldn’t be better. The place couldn’t be better. The team of professionals who run and support every aspect of it, couldn’t be better. The chocolate chip cookies each night - well, that just speaks for itself! Wow

I like this place because the location is 5 mins walk to the beach and 10 mins walk to downtown. Also 10 mins drive to Los Lobos Reserve. The staff are really nice. The hotel is newly renovated and honestly I love this hotel. It gives cozy vibe and aesthetic is pretty nice. The breakfast is phenomenal I didn’t get to try all of it but the burrito and waffles are Must have. There’s freshly baked cookies at night and alcoholic drinks in the afternoon. We had free wine and birthday card when we entered our room. It was really nice touch. They use Le Labo brand for toiletries. Overall 10/10 and we cannot wait to come back. Thank you for making my birthday weekend special.

The room was very nice but very small. The dining and the food were both top notch. The views from the dining area first rate and the Champagne brunch an absolute hit. There was also complimentary wine from 5 to 7 PM while checking in. That started the stay off great and it stayed that way. Staff very helpful and friendly.

We stayed at La playa in Carmel for 4 days it was absolutely magnificent. The hotel was clean and cute the staff was very very accommodating helped us get to dinners every night with transportation. We absolutely loved the morning breakfast it was insane best breakfast we've ever had in a hotel hands down

We had such a pleasant break from the daily grind in the city, what really stood out was the friendly, professional staff, short stroll and your toes are in the sand, and the mimosas kept coming on Sunday morning. Thanks for helping us reset ourselves!
