Clean, simple and friendly staff

Over all our stay was good. Bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean and towels were about the nicest I've used in this level of hotel. The ac unit is old, it did keep the temp at appropriate level but still felt humid inside. Vent fan didn't work most of the time in bathroom, which i think added to the humid feel. Parking was sufficient when we stayed, but not allot of room for trailers or big trucks. I will most likely stay there again in the future.

The beds were awful and the room and bathroom need a good cleaning. Vents and corners.

I don’t mind a window unit but it was off when I got to the room. It took hours to cool my room. Hallways were like an oven ( hot) in the hotel. I won’t be coming back . Staff were super nice .

The room was dirty, the staff was unhelpful. I give them 0 stars.

The property was fine but our room was dirty around the tub and the bathroom. They provided a pretty good morning breakfast and the staff was friendly

Old, dirty, WiFi password wouldn’t work for the TV. Unable to get the TV to work. The room was noisy and very dated.

Great last minute hotel. It was raining and they let us park our bikes under the overhang in front of lobby. Only thing that surprised us was the shared balcony and sliding glass doors in the room.

The beds appeared to be fairly new, but overall fairly dirty, ran down, no service of my room between check in and check out (4 days). The bathroom was basically falling apart and moldy. It would’ve been well worth the $20-30 extra to stay at the hotel next door to this one.

Easily accesible

Sliding glass door was left unlocked and thus accessible to anyone staying in the hotel. I wasn’t aware until the second night.

The breakfast had limited options. The rooms were clean and upgraded, we used the laundry facilities and they were clean and inexpensive. The staff was friendly

We stayed for 9 nights in room 203. The location of the room was good, but it had an interior view, so no view or daylight. Our toilet sat low and had loose bolts, so the toilet rocked everytime you used it. The room was clean. The bedding was nice and clean. The maid service only comes every 3 days, so garbage can quickly fill up and towels don't last that long. The gentleman at the front desk was awesome and friendly. The girls, not so much. They advertise free breakfast, but the pans are small and empty. We didn't get any hot breakfast while we were there. The hotel would be booked solid and they still aren't prepared to serve enough people in the morning, so please don't think you will be fed as advertised. I asked the front desk lady if she was going to refill the breakfast and she was annoyed that it was already eaten up and she had to get more and that was at 8:30pm with plenty of people sitting with empty plates waiting for food. It would be nice if they killed the weeds in the parking lot. It makes the motel look run down. It is overall a clean motel, the gentleman at the front desk made it a pleasant stay, and we would stay again. They do need to secure the toilets though or atleast the one in 203 and work on serving enough breakfast for the guests, especially since they strongly advertise it.

Asked in person for a room on the first floor to accommodate a handicap person and they tried to put us in the basement on the first trip and the second floor on the second trip.

Close to interstate, clean, not much close by to do - depending on when you go.

After going to the desk to see why our tv wasn't working, he informed us the tv's were installed that day. No one checked to see if they were working after installation. We ended up pulling the large tv stand away from the wall and unplugging it from the wall, and had the power strip. I know it's no big deal, but when you're paying for a room, it wasn't our job to do that. Also, we opened the curtain to see the view, to find out, it was another hallway we were looking at. Had to leave our curtain closed all the time, which was dark. Waffle mix was in the frig when we went down for bkfast, and therefore weren't able to have them. Not sure what time they put it in the machine? For the price, very disappointing.

Though it ‘looked good’, the building was so old the heavy smoke smell made me cough, I couldn’t breath and my eyes burned. The man at the front desk mentioned cleaning products that probably was the problem but said he could not give me a refund. There was no way I could even stay - even standing in the lobby - I was having a medical reaction. He really should have given me a refund. He could see I physically couldn’t stay there.

We are driving across the country abd had been driving for about 16 hours. We decided to just stop in Sturgis and get a room. I have never stayed in a Motel 8 before and never will again. We decided to get a jacuzzi tub room so we could relax after being in the car for so long. First there was zero parking spots. Then when we finally got in to lobby to check in, the guy behind the counter is holding a baby so he cannot use both of his hands to check us in. Then, the room was so old and rundown. The carpet was coming up at the saems and shredded. The bedroom TV didn't work. The jacuzzi tub had not been cleaned. The towels were either dirty or stained, either way, gross!! We got a king bed suite for 2 people. There were 3 pillows. When I went to the front desk to ask for another, no one was there. I had to call. Then I was told there was not a single extra pillow in the entire hotel. The fridge was again, dirty or stained. When we went to use the ice bucket, pills fell out of it. The AC's to all the rooms vented to an inside hallway. So as soon as you step out of your room it's unbearably hot. The entire experience was so incredibly dissatisfying it was ridiculous!!!
