Lovely staff but I got barely any sleep across my two night stay. Not much the staff can do about being in a busy area, especially at night but it was so so noisy and lots of early morning glass emptying. They have done a lovely job on the interior but I definitely wouldn’t stay here again if I was staying for work.

This was our first visit to the newly refurbished Met and we were not disappointed, as the hotel is very classy and has great amenities. The room was lovely with a choice of biscuits, cans of water, coffee and tea facilities and also a bar of chocolate, which was a nice touch. The bathroom and the decor in the room was very nice and although an unusual layout, due to the position the room was in the building (long and thin, rather than usual squarish of most hotel rooms), this wasn’t an issue as very comfortable, and bright, with very good A/C too. Only disappointing thing was the water pressure in the shower was very poor and could be improved, but didn’t spoil visit. Breakfast was very nice too, with a good choice of hot and continental options. They did have scrambled egg in the hot food section, but you could also ask for fried or poached if you wished. Will definitely visit again in future.

Excellent location. Staff very friendly. Hotel rooms were great. The main big problem though was the sheer amount of noise when i stayed the Friday and Saturday night as the hotel has a very busy 1,2 bars/ pubs right behind the hotel and they go on until early hours of the morning so with all that and the hotel itself having big conference facilities it made it impossible to sleep without ear plugs. The main window in the room did not shut properly either and the bath plug was not working. So yeah overall very good but the noise is a big big problem i would say. I might stay again but i also might not as the high levels of noise makes you think twice.

I was not able to get a refund on the second breakfast

This place needs a second lift. Currently, there is just one, very small (can fit a maximum of 4 people) lift which, when I stayed, wasn't working. They need to fix this. Also... renting umbrellas for £3 per day is wrong wrong wrong. Expensive hotels should give their cheap umbrellas to guests for nothing

Stunning facade and interior design. Our room was facing the side “street”, very quiet. Everything is clean and new. Well stocked coffee, tea and snacks were a nice surprise.
