Great location and beautiful hotel. Service a little slow in the restaurant, but food quality was great. Room was clean and very comfortable.

The staff at El Convento was superb. In the wonderful restaurant especially Andrea, Monica Sofia, and Indira were helpful. In our room Edwin was very kind. Everybody was cheerful.

Nice old hotel with great cloister in the middle. It’s in a wonderful location if you want to visit San Juan. Pool is really small. More like a plunge pool.

Beautiful hotel. Comfortable bed. Bathroom could have been cleaner.

Its all good until in the morning, found a metal needle or wire between sheet and mattress. Definitely a safety concern that might penetrate or at least scratch. Never found this situation before. Would be a good hotel maybe 5 star, but this is serious.

Beautiful place in the middle of Old San Juan . Excellent location. The building and rooms are beautiful . Well maintained keeping the beautiful architecture and original old structures .

Wonderful hotel!

Very attentive staff.

The location can’t be beat, just across the street from the cathedral in Old San Juan. The hotel was a Carmelite convent for hundreds of years prior to being converted into an elegant hotel. The calico hotel cat was everywhere and always ready to be petted. The bell staff and front desk folks were wonderful and provided great tips for dining and sightseeing. Our room was spotless and well appointed, and the bathroom was especially nice. Mattress was on the lumpy side, but we slept fine. The only downfall to El Convento is the patio bar/restaurant in the lobby level. The food was pretty bad, especially for the price, and the service on the evening of our arrival was tragic. We only ate there because we arrived very late and were too tired to venture out. Big mistake. The restaurant did much better on all fronts with the included breakfasts.

Beautiful and serene stay

Hotel is gorgeous, excellent location with walking distant to old San Juan main attractions. Staff was excellent. Highly recommended!
