I have to say I was most impressed with the staff. One person in particular. Whatever issues I ran into he was very eager to solve it. The view from the room is beautiful although you can only enjoy it from the balcony or going outside which I highly recommend. The hotel is old and needs a major renovation. I had a hard time figuring out how to start and stop the shower. They are pet friendly. Given that there are balconies people smoke there which isn’t much fun if you don’t like to smell it. The price was good and for one night it was great. It is also close to everything which was a bonus.

Very bad break fast option and didn’t have any choices

I was disappointed in the public restroom by the reception and breakfast area. It is absolutely not handicap accessible. The toilet stalls are very narrow and cramped and almost impossible to navigate as a handicapped person. So small that your practically have to straddle the tiny toilet in order to open or close the stall door.

The bed was clean, but the room needed updating, no fan in bathroom so mold on ceiling, TV didn’t work & balcony had mold as well. We only needed it to sleep, I wouldn’t want to stay there any longer.

It's unfortunate that a property like this has not been kept up or improved to take it up a notch or two. Great, scenic location off the Rideau River. Beautiful river views, but the building is old and needs some TLC. It was okay for a nights sleep, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking to spend some holiday travels in the area and quiet time on the balcony looking over the river. Much potential, but it's aging away.

Very comfortable bed and staff was welcoming and kind. Property is a little older and could use some updating but if you are looking for a clean comfortable bed that is affordable, this is a great place to stay. The property is right on the river. Breakfast only includes carbs.

Breakfast could have been better with more options like eggs and sausages and so on.

The staff were very friendly and helpful 🙂. Towels were my only concern. 1 had a yellow stain on it.

Khan at the front desk was so amazing! Extremely helpful and kind with everything I needed during my staff. The property is a bit outdated, but overall it’s a great stay for the price point. I would definitely stay here again 😊

We stayed 1 night at Econolodge Smiths Falls and can safely say we would not return. The positives, staff were friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable but we did have to ask for extra pillows. The negatives, the hotel is in desperate need of renovation, peeling paint, cracked bathroom sink, enamel on bath cracked, no fan in the bathroom, carpet ridges and stained. The balconies were very dismal and had there been chairs to sit in you would not be able to see the view of the canal due to the concrete wall. A shame because this hotel has the potential to be so much more with its position right in the canal. The breakfast offered is very basic with just toast, pancakes, cereals, yoghurts … no fruit, eggs, bacon, etc. Smiths Falls does not have a lot to offer as a tourist place but served as a place to rest overnight.

This is an affordable hotel, conveniently located to local restaurants and points of interest. It is easy to find and located alongside the Rideau canal - very picturesque. The owner is very involved with check-in cleaning, breakfast, and was offering us coffee/tea at all times. The hotel is a little "tired", but the room and common areas were very neat and clean. This was a great affordable accommodation, in a handy location
