The room was very clean and very spacious. Nice polite professional staff. Sea view with balcony is a must. I only stayed one night but i will definitely recommend and I will be using this hotel again.

Waiting staff too close and too quick to take used items making us feel being rushed and uncomfortable at dinner and breakfast.

The room as reasonably well appointed although the shower was difficult to operate. Reception was smooth and we were able to access our room upon arrival. Disappointing to find that we had to pay for parking just because we used hotels.com. While everything was clean, it was clear that the hotel is in need of a refresh.

Return visit number 4 , love the art deco style , fab sofas to relax in reading a book or having a drink . Breakfast was usual good standard- bacon that tastes like bacon and coffee that tastes like coffee ! Undergoing some renovation to corridor areas ( needed !) but did not detract from my stay Staff lovely and behaved professionally when dealing with rude & verbally abusive individuals- well done to the night manager! Pool area well kept and inviting - shame it rained Would recommend as it is great value , great location and I have always had a positive experience

Came for a night away . Was able to use facilities before we got our room . Parking is tight but managed to find a space

Selection at breakfast was poor, we had just come back from Tenerife staying a 3 star hotel which was far superior.

Not the best after the good furst impression of the ground floor. Could not hear what the receptionist was sayinb.

Chatty polite reception staff who upgraded my room ! Plentiful fresh breakfast with decent coffee ( a rare find !) Stayed in a few places in Bournemouth but 3rd visit here so far , I like the quirky decor and relaxed atmosphere and the couches and chairs you can sink into in the bar area Once the refurbishment is complete i will be returning

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at the Cumberland. We were in Bournemouth for a concert and this hotel was ideal as it was close to the venue and had a good location overlooking the bay. Our room was comfortable and good value but what really stood out was how good the staff were. Lisa made us feel welcome and gave us some great advice on the facilities and the waiters and managers were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was very nice and we enjoyed the outside and inside pools, as well as the sauna during our short stay.

Old and tied hotel. Desperately in need od renovations,images online do not repesent current condition of the hotel.

I booked the hotel for the indoor pool. Sadly the pool is in the hotel next door there were no signs to find it so I had to ask another guest who was also going to use it. It was raining and extremely windy so I wasn’t impressed at having to go outside to get to it. The pool is in a basement & There was a children swimming class being given the instructor was extremely LOUD & it eco to the extent it was uncomfortable The water was COLD and pool roped off so swimming wasn’t pleasant I only stayed in 10 minutes. The changing room didn’t have any bags for my wet swim suit so once the hotel took the towel off me what was I supposed to do my swim suit. My room has the metal extraction running up outside and it was noisy & the smells of food was too much as I couldn’t shut the window as the handle had been locked & no key in the room. The mattress sloped to one side from use of the one side so you find yourself rolling to that side, All 4 pillows were different on the bed. The stair carpet is stuck with tape trying to cover up holes from wear n tear on most floors and some holes not covered at all anyone in heels would need tobe carful. I was on the 3rd floor so saw quite a lot of this.
