Beautiful hotel, great breakfast. Extremely helpful staff, especially Bimal.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent service in all areas. Particularly Vimal in conceige was very helpful in organising our daily transport to activities. He went out of his way to help and see that we were comfortable. Buffet food was excellent. Service was great. Enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

The facilities and staff were tops.

Easily one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. Impeccable service and standards. We stayed at three hotels in Kolkata for our trip and this was the clear winner for us. The staff were very helpful and courteous and made us feel very welcome. Everyone from the concierge, house keeping, fnb services and the Taj club were so welcoming and accommodating. A shout out to Bimal, Kishan, Rajesh and the team we met in the Taj Club for their impeccable hospitality. There was a particular lady from the Taj Club that really stood out from the rest but unfortunately we didn't get her name. Defintiely would stay here again!

Not so great. It’s like a Hilton and not the level of luxury like at the Taj Palace Mumbai. Big beautiful suite with small bathroom. Staff are lovely.

It was an excellent stay. It was very conviniently located, close to the city center and easy transportation. There were good dining options. The staff was friendly and professional.

Vi besökte Taj Bengal 10 dagar och utan att överdriva den bästa och mest hjälpsamma personal vi någonsin mött, och vi har bott på väldigt många hotell i alla världsdelar. Personalen på bilden är nåt alldeles extra och förtjänar all beröm! Utöver personalen var rummen superfina och alla restaurangerna serverade riktigt god och vällagad mat. När vi åker till Kolkata igen vet vi nu vart vi ska bo.

Dated needs renovation

We have stayed for almost a week before taking a short break and planning to return for another week. The hospitality is what sets Taj Bengal apart from the rest of the innumerable 5 star hotels. Everyone is eager to please, immensely respectful and welcoming. The concierge Mr. Sanjib Ghosh has done the impossible of even getting me a premium ticket for an international India – England T20, cricket match against all odds. The night manager Mr. Tanmoy was able to extend my stay for 2 additional nights (in a full hotel!), the sous chef Kavita was attentive to everyone and the morning buffet breakfast was so enjoyable. The main restaurant Sonargaon is par excellence in ambience, decor and food, albeit a bit expensive. This is truly one of the best Bengali restaurant I have ever been to. We didn’t use the gym or the spa. But again, what sets the Taj apart is the hospitality which money cannot buy in America.

Good hotel. Raj at the pool awesome - made my stay. Pool in the shade after midday. Towels very old and grey…odd for such a nice hotel. Others had long delays at check in . I didn’t. They could not find me a map Though…

We have stayed at the Taj Bengal multiple times. Cannot beat it for five star service, quality of the restaurants, the proximity to downtown and city landmarks.Delightful stay as always.

Breakfast was fantastic!! Common areas are beautiful. The rooms and bathrooms albeit good could use some modernization.

Hotel was fantastic and they couldnt do enough for us.

The hotel looks rundown and old. The bathroom looks like a dorm room stall while people are busy in the front desk. They’re unable to execute their task properly in this trip. I have stayed at Goa, Kolkata and kuseong, each one of the top experiences was not what I expected rooms with dirty towels beds that had plywood stuck in them Car Service that was ordered, but no one showed up and never picked up the phone scheduling Car Service Sf that go away took several calls throughout the day booking online on the taj.com. Site is a disaster. I can keep going on and on in the last two years of state of many Taj and it seems like that with the influx of Indian tourism. The Taj hotels cannot keep up with their standards. I stayed at the over in Bombay and I noticed that their customer service was much better than the Taj

Definitely recommend staying at the taj bengal, the service is outstanding
