The Minster Hotel is a great place to stay in York. The location is ideal and makes it easy to walk into the city centre. The room that I was given was spacious and had a good bathroom. The staff were friendly and pleasant. The breakfasts were well prepared. I would stay again

Our room was very pleasant (third floor, with views over the surroundings). All the staff we met were personable without being pushy - very nice. The hotel is well-placed for getting to the city centre. It was also nice that we didn't have to decide if we wanted breakfast until the morning. We'll stay here again.

Lovely hotel. Rooms were nicely appointed and very comfortable. The location was great. Close to the attractions and shops and restaurants. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If we come to York again I would definitely try to stay here again.

This hotel is in an excellent location for all the "Must visit" places in the city. Also close to the bus station. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful; whatever we asked for we were given. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice. The onsite parking was a massive bonus!

Cleanliness is was ok. Be prepared that is old!!! Uneven steps, no elevator, no air conditioning or room fridge! Historic is great, but none of the comforts of home. Cold attitude toward guests! Did accommodate with a fan, but that wasn’t much help. Request for ice - one glass with 4 ice cubes!

Excellent hotel very close to Museum Gardens for a concert. Fabulous staff from first contact by phone, through check in chatting with our chambermaid, when we were allowed to drop our bags early, and, the breakfast staff. Room was ok but no aircon in ours on a particularly warm night so we slept with the windows open.

Only issue we had was 6 flights of stairs as its a old building so no lift could be put in but manager said if you book again ring hotel directand would provide ground floor as i have a severe heart condition but overall excellent thankyou

The rooms were nice & clean . It was in a good spot, short walk into the center. Friendly staff. The carpark was a nightmare to get into & out, very narrow entry through the building & had to pass a few obstacles getting in & out, (car & laundry cage) we actually scrapped our wheel trim getting out around a parked van outside when leaving otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

Extremely helpful and polite staff..everyone was so nice..hotel handily placed within a very short walk for the town centre and all the attractions..parking at the rear of the hotel is an added bonus..we will be definitely using this hotel when we return to York..did I say the staff were excellent..good job and well done one and all...

Very friendly front desk staff, charming rooms, and a quiet location

Hotel is excellent, our room was well cared for and very comfortable, it had everything we needed. Location was superb, walking distance to all the main visitor stops and shopping and cafes restaurants too. Staff are wonderful, knowledgeable, helpful and polite without being intrusive. Highly recommended.

Ideal for us right on the racecourse.worth paying the extra for racecourse view.

The room was comfy with a nice big bed and loads of pillows, which I love when I'm watching TV or working on the laptop. Carpet very worn, but I have no complaints about cleanliness - except in the shower drain which was semi-blocked and had some stains/deposits. I liked the products. Would have appreciated a shower cap too. Parking good (a very nice surprise as the hotel is quite central in York), and I'm told it's free - rather than the £10 I paid - when you book direct. I didn't use the kettle for hot drinks, as I dislike instant coffee and UHT milk, but the biscuits were good. Staff on the front desk were really nice.

This has got to be one of the friendliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel staff were so lovely and helpful; they always greeted you with a smile and made you feel so welcome. The hotel is ideally placed to visit York with a pleasant 5-10 minute walk from the main sights and river. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast delicious. I’d highly recommend this to anyone visiting York and would definitely stay again.
