Eastwood Hall consistently offers a comfortable stay and great food. This time I used the gym and it’s functional and provides a variety of machines offering a whole body exercise. Dog friendly is always a bonus with off site walking a few yards away as well as in the grounds.

Sadly the friendliness and helpful nature of the staff cannot excuse some of the basic fundamental issues that I have experienced over the last few stays at this hotel. I decided to stay here as I am a keen swimmer and the facilities here are great in that regard. Unfortunately I seem to be unable to get the same quality of room between stays even though I always book the same room type. If it’s not noisy pipes it is television sets that don’t work properly or some other basic requirement that is lacking. It’s a real shame as it has the potential to be a really great hotel but is being mis-managed with not enough emphasis on hotel maintenance. A special mention should be made to Sanda, Megan and Felicity on the desk who all went out of their way to make up for the hotel’s shortcomings, and I can’t praise them enough. Hotel management however need to stay behind.

The room was nice and seemed to have been quite recently repainted. I echo some of the other reviews - there needs to be somewhere to hang towels in the bathroom! Desperate need for a towel rail. Bed comfortable. Pool was a nice bonus but restricted times for kids - which can be difficult to explain to young children! Breakfast buffet good but only 1 hot drinks machine working leading to long queues.

Beds are comfortable. Although it’s long walk from our room to the amenities especially if you are with an elderly. Friendly staff.

Spotless room, excellent service. Nice facilities in general. Breakfast was also really good. Not much to pick out as bad. Only thing I can think of is men’s gym lockers in need of repair.

Rooms clean, very friendly staff! Need a little upgrade/refurb decor wise. Sounds petty but I would rather have known how far the room was from reception prior to arriving, was a right trek and we had a fair bit of luggage too! Would have requested something closer. The photos look like it’s a small hotel but it’s not.. also take your own toilet roll the ones provided are terrible! Otherwise lovely stay! Thankyou!

Upon initially arriving and getting to our room, we were immediately frustrated to find that there was only one bed to share between three people. It wasn’t even a proper double bed — it was two single beds pushed together, which was uncomfortable and unacceptable for the booking. Later, we went to get a drink using some spare change we had, only to be told that the hotel is card-only throughout, including the bar. We were unable to use our cash despite it being legal tender, which was not made clear beforehand. The hotel was also extremely loud throughout the night. Noise from neighbouring rooms, both above and next to us, resulted in a very poor night’s sleep. I raised this with the manager, Sebastian, who was not particularly willing to offer any assistance or solution. The following morning, breakfast was another disappointment. Luke, the restaurant manager, did try his best, but the overall service was very poor. There was no hot food available, and many guests were complaining. Everyone was simply told that “the chef was trying his best”, which didn’t help the situation. Overall, this stay fell far below expectations due to poor room setup, noise issues, lack of flexibility, and disappointing service. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again nor recommend it to others.

Nice welcome at reception. Clean warm room. Comfy bed. Breakfast was good although a few items weren’t available as we went down to breakfast at 0950 on Sunday morning.
