Travel for work and experience lots of hotels, is is by far the worst one I have stayed in for a long time. Unclean, room clearly not even hoovered, walls dirty in room and corridors, smells a mix of damp and smoke. IHG should be ashamed of this hotel, I regularly use your services in the north east and not had a bad experience yet…. This property needs serious attention quickly.

Although the welcome wasn't great the hotel itself was good. Clean in most areas, nice new bar area and a decent room.

Scruffy

One night stay with dogs before an early tunnel to France the next morning. Staff were friendly if inexperienced but the hotel is really tatty. Scruffy carpet, doors with frayed bottoms and patches where finger panels used to be. Paintwork peeling and air con which was ineffective and couldn’t alter the temperature. We were told this was because of maintenance works. Staff provided fans but this really isn’t good enough. God knows what it was like during the heat wave. Didn’t have breakfast as leaving really early.

Main areas newly decorated, room itself was quite worn out. Booked online as an air-conditioned room, but the temperature gauge on the aircon wouldn't change, so a bit of a warmer night than hoped. Staff on the front desk very pleasant.

Our stay was very comfortable, and pleased to see dietary requirement catered for at breakfast .

Easy parking large clean room, corridors a little dated and twist and turn for ages, staff friendly, excellent sleep would defo stay here again

Very good,all staff from reception to cleaners very polite and cheerful and helpful. The room was really comfortable and spacious. The dining room was lovely,the breakfast selection was excellent and very tasty. We shall be visiting the area again in late November early December for about a week and will definitely book again with you.

Arrived and was greeted very nicely by a member of staff at reception. I have a few mobility issues even tho not disabled but he found me a ground floor room with walk in shower. Room was nice and clean and a very comfy bed. Was for 4 nights and everything was great. Would definitely return when back down in area.

We saw hares from our room window, lovely setting. The one down side, in the very hot weather, a humid night, the air con wasn't working...... I had picked the hotel based on the fact there was air con
