I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and every time is better than the last. I didn’t give a full 5 star rating this time as the lift was not working. Apart from that everything and everyone was 5 star and I definitely recommend anyone visiting Cheltenham to stay at the Hotel du Vin

Our room was amazing! A large, beautifully decorated room with his and hers stand-alone baths! And a large walk in shower. Would definitely recommend. We hope to go back.

What has happened to this place? I have stayed in this hotel several times, but this will be my last. The place is so dirty. Short staffed. I feel bad for the employees. The people who check you in also deliver your luggage, provide room service, and serve at the bar.

Hotel du vin is in an excellent hotel in a great location close to shops and centre. We upgraded to a junior suite planta room, which was very spacious. Breakfast was very good Park at front of possible it £10/ day

We’ve been loyal HDV guests for nearly 20 years, including our wedding at HDV Harrogate, and have always appreciated the quality—until our recent stay in Cheltenham. After a 6-hour drive due to heavy traffic, we arrived at 7:05 PM, just five minutes after the Set Menu offer ended. Disappointingly, there was no flexibility or offer from the duty manager to check with the kitchen, so we dined elsewhere. Later that night, we were kept awake by a loud noise (likely from an external vent or air system). At 12:15 AM, we called reception; they acknowledged the issue and moved us after 20 minutes—calling it an “upgrade,” which felt irrelevant at that hour. We raised the issue the next morning and were told to expect follow-up or compensation, which still hasn’t happened. Not what we expect from a premium hotel brand like HDV—more like a Travelodge experience at boutique prices. Really disappointing.

Beautiful hotel. Our suite was amazing and the bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were fantastic and remembered you in following conversations. Definitely recommend.

Eldre hotell i bygning med sjel i. Bare hyggelige og hjelpsomme ansatte, og bra frokost, selv om den ikke når helt opp til det vi er vant med i Norge på bra hoteller. Rene og pene rom, som likevel er velbrukte. Og morsomt med badekar i fotenden på senga. Alt i alt; her kommer jeg snart igjen, da jeg er endel i Cheltenham

An excellent room awaited us, with a delightful bath/shower facility. A walk around Cheltenham, a lovely meal and our eyelids were drooping. We went to bed earlier than ever before - and awake fully refreshed! A delicious full breakfast was there and we were on our way recharged and ready for the day. Excellent hotel - we will be going there again.

The hotel was lovely and the staff were extremely helpful. Booked a junior suite which was well worth it and it was a great room. You won’t be disappointed. Lots of space and very comfortable. Great location too, only 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel was also really good.

Really loved my room even if it was a bit of a trek up stairs to get to it. Bed and pillows extremely comfortable. Great coffee bags and tea in room. Nice shampoos and soap. Breakfast very enjoyable.

A very minor thing was missed in the room but immediately corrected. Thank you Hotel du Vin for an excellent experience!

One night stay on busy itinerary in from Spain (home) via BHX. Next day to LHR to fly to Brazil. Seeing my son (Bristol Uni Med student) on elective in Cheltenham for the evening.

The river suite is amazing and just unique amongst hotel rooms. What a great stay.

Beautiful and clean room. Excellent space and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Great welcome at reception and clear instructions to our well appointed and comfortable room. We had a light dinner in the bar and Decima, who served us, was so friendly and efficient. All in all a delightful stay.

Typical HDV property so you know what to expect and centrally located Bar/restaurant was a little soulless when we stayed but it was a Monday night. Menu was good and steak special good value Nice rooms but be careful if you don’t like ground floor. We had one of the “best” rooms. But windows faced to the front car park. I would ask higher floor next time

Another good stay here, all staff very helpful and friendly, room was excellent. Dinner was very good made very enjoyable again by our server, we remembered him from last year, very nice guy, looked after us well.
