Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Catalonia Excelsior, Valencia, Spain. I will certainly return to this hotel if my travels bring me back to Valencia. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly in delivering their services, displayed a thorough knowledge of the city, and did not hesitate to go the extra mile to assist. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The breakfast was "awesome" with cheerful, friendly staff ready to assist. Situated in the downtown core, the location is excellent for a traveller who wants to engage in the city's arts and culture. However, the room I stayed in on my second visit had a very small bathroom. The water from the shower flooded the bathroom and drained into the bedroom. This floor plan should be altered. I rate this hotel as "Excellent"

The location of this hotel was great, however we struggled with a few things. The room was fairly clean, but we had a dirty pillow. The shower was not well maintained. When you step in, the floor sinks a little and makes a squishy sound as if there is a puddle underneath. The drain needs to be cleared as the water would pool during a shower, even without the stopper in. Overall we had mixed experiences with the the staff. On certain occasions, we would say hello/hola and get no reply or smile. Other times the staff were friendly and greeted us back! We loved that it was central to the city and the beds were very comfortable! :)

Emplacement parfait pour visiter, le personnel était vraiment top. Check-in rapide. Chambre petite mais fonctionnelle. La literie était bonne J'avais un doute vu les avis mais je peux le recommander sans souci pour un séjour.

Great locations

Hotel very well located and staff helpful. Unfortunately my room was dated and the bathroom quite run down. Mouldy grouting on the shower floor and drain not attached. Air con not effective - the room only dropped 2 degrees in over 14 hours of having the air con on, and presumably this was partly due to the temperature outside dropping overnight. The air con also smelt of cigarette smoke at times, which I’m assuming was due to another room smoking. This woke me up in the night and was extremely unpleasant. Not much noise from the street which was a plus, however you could hear other rooms flushing toilets/running showers although this wasn’t hugely disruptive.

The breakfast was excellent with a large variety of hot and cold foods. The fresh orange house machine and self serve coffee machines kept the lines moving. The rooms are quite soundproof. The only annoyances were a weak exhaust in the bathroom which struggled to remove the cleaning fluid odors and a bright light on the TV. Positives were English channels and casting enabled. Staff was very helpful

Great location and good restaurant. Gym didn’t always have water. Don’t be fooled by the pictures either as there is no pool for guests.

Everything was good, just i think the bathtub needs update , was very slippery so becarfull 👍

Hotel is in a great location, communal areas look bright and modern. The staff are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The rooms feel a bit dated and don’t match the rest of the hotel. Overall a great hotel just the rooms could do with an update.
