Very disappointing stay at Catalonia Hotel 1864. I booked a standard single room for myself, but the room was extremely small and had a strong mouldy smell. When I complained to reception, instead of resolving the issue properly, I was told they could offer me a deluxe room , but only if I paid an additional €138 per night. To me, this felt like a deliberate upselling strategy rather than genuine customer service. Guests should not be pressured into paying huge extra charges just to have a clean and comfortable room. Very unfair and opportunistic experience overall.

The location of the hotel was great. We walked to all the sites. The breakfast buffet in the morning had a good variety and was delicious. The hotel was quiet and clean. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Hotel is in a great location and staff was nice. Room was clean but small and really lacked a place to put luggage for 2 people. Bathrooms exceeded expectations. For some reason the key kept getting deprogrammed and the staff was unable to correct this. It resulted in me coming back to get a new key every time we left the hotel. They made it seem like it was only me but I saw another guest having the same issue. While this wasn’t a terrible problem it was an annoying inconvenience. The staff was apologetic about it. I’m not sure I would stay here again.

Unsere Premium-Zimmer wurden uns wie gewünscht nebeneinander sowie in einer oberen Etage vergeben. Die Zimmer und Bäder waren sehr sauber, die Betten bequem und die Lautstärke nachts Dank schallisolierten Fenstern wunderbar. Das Personal an der Rezeption und im Speisesaal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Angebot am Frühstücksbuffet war hervorragend und die Eierspeisen wurden auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet. Leider lud uns die im Eingangsbereich befindliche Bar nicht zum Verweilen ein. Diese ist viel zu klein und das Licht ungemütlich hell. Wirklich schade, zumal die Dachterrasse/Bar abends aufgrund einer "Geschlossenen Gesellschaft" nicht genutzt werden konnte. Zum Glück befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe / über der Straße einige Restaurants/Cafés (z.B. das Restaurant "EL BOLICHE" Del Gordo Cabrera) um abends in gemütlicher Atmosphäre Drinks & Food zu sich zu nehmen.

Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Lage ist sehr gut. Personal war freundlich.

Not actually pet friendly compare to other hotels in Barcelona.

Ok, the rooms need a refurbishment, they are old and damaged. Otherwise location is great, the restaurant and breakfast was super.

This hotel is near the shopping area and it is in a safe neighborhood. Even after finishing dinner at 11pm we still felt safe to walk back to the hotel.

A estadia foi perfeita! Hotel muito bem localizado e staff simpático. Nos ofereceram um upgrade de quarto no check-in. Ótima experiência, já até reservei uma nova estadia por lá esse mês.

Everything was great I’d definitely love to stay there again from welcome Drinkn location only 2 blocks from train. Can be a bit loud if door lefts open but the breeze was super nice

La chambre était très très propre, le personnel est agréable et semble être à l’écoute. En revanche la climatisation ne fonctionnait pas dans la chambre, il faisait extrêmement chaud, nous avions 2 lits simples alors que nous venions pour un week-end en couple
