The 4 star hotel but no have hair dryer in the room , it‘s a standard service but really not get it! How ? Why? after told staff who work at night around 8pm ( 28 Aug) but he couldn’t find me one , seem like he didn’t active about that at all , I stayed there many times I like the hotel very much but this problem is standard service they must have in the room or make a solution to fix a problem such as go to the room where no have Guest check in and get me one . So disappointed for easy problem but didn’t find the solution . Hope next time won’t have problem like that again because the hotel located on the good area for shopping and so convenience, normally I always have a good time when stay there staffs always nice and helpful , I have no problem with gay community at all , they are nice and say hello to me and their reaction is not freak out when see me ( woman ) in the hotel . I will definitely stay there again for my next visit .

Spa facilities not available during my stay which were only made clear after I had booked a non-refundable room. (The hotel refused to allow me to cancel). When this was discussed at reception the on-duty manager just said that as it was temporarily unavailable (for several months it seems) that they would not change the advert which i still do not understand why in the description that cannot be made clear. The hotel room given was above the hotel restaurant with music so loud I could not sleep (i had the half marathon and i have a hidden disability which makes sleeping difficult anyway). When I spoke to the on-duty manager he was very dismissive and even when the assistant had offered me another room for the next night he just said there was no point as there would be no party on sunday night (this was incorrect assumption as I had to endure at 10pm until midnight more loud music). He said they would ring the police as it is illegal but by the time they would arrive it would be midnight when it would be sorted - it was after this time. Nevertheless I got the impression this is a frequent occurrence and is totally unacceptable to sell a room like that. Ultimately because I could not use the facilities I had intended to use and was the main reason for my booking, I changed my flight and was glad to leave the hotel at 7am the next morning. A minor thing in the grand scheme of things was the hair on the bed next to the little cardboard sign which said "welcome home".

We booked specifically for the spa and extras but when we arrived we were informed that the spa was completely closed for renovations. Nowhere on any sites including Axel’s own website does it inform you that there was a planned closure of the spa. The overall response to the situation as well was unsatisfactory. Disappointed and unlikely to stay there again.

We have stayed here before and have always enjoyed spacious room, nice staff and the central location. This time was a disappointment, since the spa area was closed. It certainly needed renovations. But I am very disappointed that we were informed about the temporary closing after the possibility of cancelling our stay had expired. This time we chose Axel for a March getaway planning to spend time in the sauna, but ended up having to change our plans and the extra money we spent on staying in this hotel was wasted.

Great place, very attentive staff. I will definitely come back.

Room very nice and klein

I stayed 6th floor and I needed to change my room, because room smelled like basement. Visible mold in ceiling etc. Hotel is overall very worn out, need some renovation. Staff was Ok.

Staff were amazing, my room had a bathtub which I always enjoy when in a hotel, location is perfect although technically not in the centre, Berlin has many districts all very accessible from this hotel. If you are gay then this hotel is perfect for many bars etc. around. The station is a 3 min walk. The rooms are super quiet and proper black out curtains if you crave darkness, nice spa on top floor also. My only negative comment is there no bar, however there are plenty around.

Hotel verdient keine 4 Sterne, Zimmer sind ausreichend groß aber wenig einladend. Auswahl beim Frühstück sehr gering.

I had read previous reviews about unwelcoming staff / unfriendly atmosphere. well I can absolutely say that couldnt be further from the truth. Everyone was so pleasant and welcoming. Always a friendly smile and polite chat from the staff. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and the rooms have everything you could ask for. They are also cleaned daily if needed. The facilities are also great the spa area was a perfect wind down after a long day out exploring. 10/10 would recommend, and we will be booking a break here again in the new year.
