The young team at Opera Garden shows the art of European boutique hospitality is still alive and doing well. Totally worthy of the proudly displayed wall of rewards they keep receiving year after year.
Reception was considerate of our conditions and allowed us to check in and refresh as soon as the housekeeping team finished.
The location is almost magical in that it is in a calm and quiet, genuine charming tree lined European lane with cafes, fun small restaurants (themed dining) and unique boutique shops (camera collectors repair, antique books, peofessional magicians props) surrounding you; cobblestoned walkway everywhere; small benches everywhere begging you to slow down and take in the vibe.
Yet two blocks walking in each direction will land you into many of Budapest's major attractions, cathedral square, and ahopping districts full of hustling and bustling tourists continuously throughout the day. Transformation feels like teleportation and really allows me to maximize my vacation time with minimal planning. Front desk was always helpful whenever we ask, and was never intrusive.
They made great use of limited space, amenities included a tranqil garden courtyard as well as a furnished rooftop garden ... perfect for sunset wine socials. The breakfast venue is exquisitely designed with bi-level seatings combining 4 eating areas each with its distinctly character. The most impressive is the outdoor on-the-ave seating, gotta experience to believe!
