Last year wifi, this year safety box problem. Hope next year will be ok.

The room itself was nice, but I was overlooking an alleyway which was populated by loud and drunk people which kept waking me up. I eventually got to sleep after midnight, though I was hoping for an early night and a much needed restful night. I was woken up again at 6am by more noise - deliveries, followed by cafe owner dragging metal furniture across the cobbles. The room was also freezing cold, as no central heating was on, though there was a constant sound of water flow from the (non-functioning) radiators. Fortunately there was oil filled radiator in the wardrobe. Not happy at all about the noise from the courtyard below though, or the loud music from downstairs.

Clean room, comfy bed and friendly staff.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in October. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room. We had booked a suite which was a very good size and clean and had all of the facilities that you could need. It isn’t a modern hotel but has a charm. The hotel is very well located in the centre of Guildford close to shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful, providing glasses and ice in request. It was very good value for money.

Very comfortable room in centrally located hotel

I stay regularly at this hotel. The rooms are big and the price is usually good. But the rooms at the back have very patchy internet and even though they have tried to fix this, it’s still not good enough! Also, in former times, the staff offered to carry luggage to the room, which may be up and down very narrow stairs with no lift! That has recently not been the case!

Historic building had charm. Furnishings a bit worn, but room and bathroom a nice size. Friendly staff.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. The hotel is a beautiful hotel which was built in the 1500's. If you have mobility issues, it may not be for you as there is no lift and there are quite a lot of stairs, but it was a lovely building to stay in. The bed was comfy and I was at the top of the building so it was really quiet apart.

The room was a deluxe double, one of their best. We thought the little details were lacking which is a shame and make the difference. For example the Safe didn't work, no plug in the hand basin, two TV , one remote. Limited coffee etc facilities., entrance light not working. Staff though are very friendly, the room clean and the location is beyong excellant. Because of the location its easy pickings for bookings. Beware gulldford parking prices and on a weekend are like hens teeth.

Rustic charm. Restaurant. Good matress and bedding. Little shy on towels. Could have easily asked for more. Long hike to front desk. However manageable. No complaints.

I stay regularly and the experience will depend on which room you are in, each is quite different. All rooms I have started in are huge and plenty of space
