This hotel has a management problem. Our room was good - spacious, with a nice balcony, although the bathroom was depressingly institutional. Towels, sheets and mattresses all fine, though they are very sparing with pillows.
There is something disorganized about food service, both in the restaurant and in room service. In the restaurant there's a nice balcony with lots of tables and for some reason no table service. The seating is less than pristine, with some seating actually physically dangerous. It needs to be re-thought.
Each time we ordered room service we were asked whether we'd pay in cash or by card. They seemed baffled by the idea of charging to the room, and indeed we had to go down to the front desk and put a specific number of Euros on the account - money it will take days for them to reimburse. Even then, room service didn't get it. And there is apparently no system that let's room service know what room we're in. Major issue? No. But it goes to the general not-quite-ready-for-the-big-time feel of the place.
A good hotel that needs some procedures established and some training in those procedures.
