What a gem of a hotel with plenty of character. This place has a spiritual vibe which is very calming and relaxing, Staff were very friendly and food was great loved the vintage type radio in the room gave a lovely relaxed feel. Hotel was spotless and if you lucky you may see one of the ghosts that are said to roam this old hotel. Highly recommended will stay again! Glastonbury is a wonderful spiritual place with a great vibe. Pubs close early evening for food orders but we visited an amazing Indian restaurant a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

Its difficult to judge this hotel as the building is so so old the public toilets are badly in need of some tlc and the walls need a proper distemper job done on them. You should be awarw that the parking is not free its at least £6.80 per day. As it a public car park and it can also be full so no guarantee of a parking place. As the building is very old there is no lift and the stairs are difficult to manage if your elderly we were on the second floor and I found it hard going (Im 81). Its also an old coaching stop so the restuarant is split from the bar by a passageway which goes through from front to back and a bit of a thoroughfare to the public car park at the back. The food menu is limited also.

A wonderful hotel with a rich historical background. I was delighted to be welcomed by such friendly staff. I was also pleased to find slippers provided. I’ve stayed at several hotels in the UK, but this was the first time I’d been offered this service.

Lovely room and clean, but windows are old sash windows and we felt uneasy opening them in the hot weather. The room had fans provided. The staff were really friendly and went above and beyond to help, especially leon the dep manager. The bar was nice and plenty of places to sit. The evening meal was really nice slso. Very enjoyable stay, snd would stay again.

This is a novelty choice that we thoroughly enjoyed. Where else can you say you’ve stayed at a hotel built in 1475 and reputedly hosted King Henry VIII? The front of the hotel looks very much from the Middle Ages and could use a refresh (if preservationists would allow it). The public house on the ground floor looks like it’s been serving patrons reliably for centuries and was full of life. Our extra large room was amazing with its stained glass windows overlooking the high street , and decorated with assorted 200 year old furniture & a four poster (and very comfortable) bed. The bathroom is thoroughly modern and clean. The experience was a fun treat. And the staff was super helpful. If modern accommodations is more your speed this property is probably not for you but if you enjoy an out of the box experience and a taste of time long ago, make a reservation to spend the night here!

The bath/shower in our room was good but getting into it with my dodgy knees was difficult. a grab handle on the wall would help. Menu for evening meal was limited (changing your menu choices so many things no longer available) . Pie was excellent but veg poor, carrots were rock hard. Staff friendly and helpful.

This was an old building, and we expected it to have a few cobwebs, and yet there were none. restaurant staff were great and very obliging, especially on the day we overslept breakfast. The manager could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was spectacularly overwhelming, and the bar, given it was a bit small, managed still to be friendly, warm and inviting. We booked this hotel as a previous hotel mis-booked us, the George and Pilgrims was a serendipitous find

A great old and historic hotel with tons of atmosphere.. like staying in a legend...

Breakfast ok but no healthy options. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The floor of Room 8 slopes and therefore so does the bed. Pillows very hard and too thick for comfort. The room was very hot even though it was only early May. Only one window could be opened, the others had broken catches/broken frame.
