Lovely older hotel!

Very helpful and friendly staff. Great breakfast.

This is a lovely hotel away from everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had food in the evening which was nice. The room and bathroom were very clean and there was a kettle with teas and coffees.

We received a warm welcome when we arrived. All the staff we met were friendly. The breakfast was very good. We were pre-warned about the closure of the spa - not that we were going to have any time to use it. It was a good place to stay so we could attend a family wedding at Mapperton House. Plenty of room for parking.

Wow!!! Upon arrival our hearts sank. As you look at the building the right side looked dilapidated - curtains across windows at an angle and an air of disrepair. We almost drove back out. However once you enter the double doors it’s like another world. Great reception area, clean and bright with two friendly receptionists ready to book in guests. The rooms were bright and immaculately clean, with air conditioning, table and 2 chairs and a 6’0 bed. The bathroom was large and beautifully designed with lovely complimentary toiletries. The shower was a power shower with no heating issues. Great little drinks tray on the vanity, various teas and coffees and two hot choc sachets as well as two bottles of still water. If I had to be picky I’d say the TV could be bigger and a plug socket by the bed would be great but as a work trip staying one night it wasn’t an issue. Overall ignore the facade and enjoy the hotel on the inside!

First impressions of the building not so good unfinished projects. Took my bags to the reception. Looked like a 5+ hotel good food very clean .i work away from home stop in some not so nice places . BREAKFAST AMAZING. Need transport a little secluded.

We really enjoyed our 5 day stay at the Hotel, our standard room was of a very generous size, much bigger than a lot of hotels which was very pleasing. The Hotel throughout was spotlessly clean, and the food was excellent, the staff were very helpful, and the cost was very reasonable, there was always plenty of parking spaces in the car park, and we will definitely visits again, the Hotel exceeded our expectations.

THIS WAS MY FIRST VIST TO THE HOTEL AND OVERALL MY STAY WAS A VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD HAVE NO HESITATION IN RESERVING ANOTHER ROOM WHEN NEXT VISITING THE AREA THE HOTEL IS MODERN WITH EASY ACCESS AND HAS PLENTY OF CAR PARKING SPACES, THE BEDROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND THERE WERE PLENTY OF NICE TOLIETRIES AND TOWELS IN THE BATHROOM TO USE. THE FOOD WAS GOOD QUALITY AND REASONABLY PRICED. THE STAFF ARE ALSO EXTREMLEY HELPFUL AND HELPED MAKE MY STAY A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.

Pluses were : staff were very helpful, clean room and parking. Food was good. Negatives were : bathroom door loud and heavy. Door closer made opening door difficult and needed maintenance for the noise. Sink tap need attention small amount of water spraying in all directions. Electric jug needed replacement done promptly

There are a couple of reasons I am lowering the rating. First the air con wasn’t working in the hottest day of the year, secondly the sofa bed for 2 teenagers to sleep in , was small , sloped and not comfortable.

It was fine. Staff very helpful and jolly. Rooms good. The outside needs work and was off putting when we arrived. So as a base to sleep, it worked well for us. But as a more special place, not so much. But the staff we great.

Pleasant stay. Rooms look a bit dated, no plug sockets next to bed. Room wasn't hoovered before arrival. Plumbing need looking into (slow drainage and toilet flush not great) Staff were helpful. Breakfast was buffet, so unable to choose from normal breakfast menu.

Older hotel that was just opening for the season. Hard to give it a fair rating. Everything was good, but not great. No complaints.

There was no Spa available. Closed or closed down? First impressions rough on the outside but pleasantly surprised by the inside. Decent food & bedroom. 👍

Beautiful and comfortable bathroom. Cosy bed. Very clean, but the carpet is a bit old. Half of the sockets are also round legged.

I have stayed in a fair few inns and hotels in the English countryside. This was one of my least favorites. It is going for a more royal feel, but the decor is outdated 90s black and silver with wavy mirrors that don’t match the royal seal carpets. The bed was very hard, lumpy, and uncomfortable. It doesn’t not have a great view or pleasant grounds. There are way better quaint inns and hotels in the Dorset area, find a different one!

The outside of the building looked run down but the inside was lovely!

Room was great and well appointed.. hotel team were pleasant.. breakfast was hit and miss .. we realised different chefs were on.. pity no level of consistency..
