We had a wonderful time staying at the Gumtree. The host was very sweet and helped us with great ideas of things to do and see while in the area. The breakfast was tasty with choices of hot and cold items, fresh made bread, and fresh fruit cups. The location was quiet, but within walking distance to good restaurants.

We traveled as a family and had a great stay at the Gumtree. Gerry is an incredible host and takes good care of his guests. Two thumbs up!

Ett hotell över förväntningarna. Otroligt mysigt, mysiga rum och mysig miljö. Sköna sängar. En fantastiskt trevlig ägare som på vår smekmånad välkomnade oss med bubbel och sedan gav tips på både restauranger och stopp på vår kommande körning på route 62.

Our host Jerry could not be more charming or helpful. He’s a font of knowledge and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in places that look more plush, but this was by far superior in every way. Powerful shower, quiet air con and ceiling fan, and the best breakfast.

This property was well maintained and had secure parking. We appreciated that it was only a block to the Main Street and close to shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

Phil and Linda made us very welcome and made our stay really enjoyable. We have stayed at the Gumtree previously and will no doubt return. The garden is lovely and there is a pool for cooling off after a long drive. Phil cooks a very good breakfast and Linda's fruit salad is lovely. We would recommend.

Outstanding location in Oudtshoorn - probably the best. Highly recommend. Owners are very helpful at organizing activities, visits, and sightseeing in the area. Outstanding hospitality.

Phil and Linda a perfect hosts and their B&B is a gem. The are very helpfull with everything, they organized for us a table in a nice restaurant and gave us a lot of recommendations within Oudtshoorn. The room was very clean an spacey. Phil has a Bar which he opens daily at 17:30 where he serves local beers and gins! I highly recommend that place when being in Oudtshoorn.

One problem was that the closet to hang clothes was not long enough for dresses, the shower room was quite tired looking

The best guest house we have ever stayed at anywhere in the world! Just unbelievable. Perfect location, perfect facilities, perfect hosts! We didn’t want to leave. A wonderful discovery. We will be back!!

On the road 800+ nights around the world and this is one of the best, in every way. Super location, close but not too close to town—-quiet, beautiful morning birdsong. Clean, very comfortable bed and room—very peaceful, restful sleep. First rate room. Breakfast was superb—locally sourced, fresh juice, excellent cold and hot food, homemade bread. Beautiful breakfast room. And proprietors Phil and Linda all pull off this first rate guesthouse with graciousness and warm hospitality. And very, very interesting and engaging people they both are—just first rate human beings running a first rate guest house. You can’t and won’t go wrong—stay here if you are in or near Outdshoorn. You will be very happy you did.
