Friendly staff Quiet room

Lovely pub, pricey but had a great value for money 3 course set meal for £23 (Running JAN/FEB25) Staff were brilliant. Bathroom & room are really well kept and modern. Only downside was the air con unit, turned it off but kept hearing a mundane noise throughout but still lovely place and would stay again if I’m in the area for work.

Excellent hotel and bar. Great room. Complimentary room upgrade was very much appreciated!

The sole real issue was only one very dim ceiling light and only 1 dim bedside light in the room. I had to use my iPhone light to see how to use the coffee machine. There appeared to be 2 more spare plugs for missing table lamps. I went to see the receptionist who spent at least 10 minutes searching several places for lamps. With no success. We were offered a change of room, but my wife had already changed for bed so we stayed in the gloom.

Everything was great. Would definitely stay here again.

No tissues provided. Unsafe tub entry height and slippery floor. Hot and cold sink faucets are separate causing either burnt or frozen hands. Maid service is inadequate.

Convenient with safe, easy parking. No fuss. Perfect for overnight stop after visiting friends. Well priced.

My only issue with my stay was there was rip in quilt cover when we arrived late evening in morning we brought this up and was assured it would be changed but when we got back from day out it was same sheet on

Plenty of secure parking at rear, friendly helpful staff, large room with air conditioning and good breakfast. The pub is in great condition, the room was clean, but could do with some refreshing…it smelt damp and the corridors are in need of redecoration. We used it for a Heathrow flight the next day…20 minutes by car and would on balance use again as it’s better and more reasonably priced than on airport hotels (which can’t guarantee a parking space).

Beautiful oldy-worldy Pub/Hotel. Great breakfast. Room was nicely decorated, but freezing! No amount of fiddling with the Aircon helped.

Room amazing, comfy and clean. Car park very secure. Staff were all really welcoming and helpful. The food and atmosphere in the bar were a highlight.... excellent quality. A classic upmarket British pub experience.

A few stains on carpet no milk for a brew warm water in a bottle with a flip lid from the tap

Pleasantly surprised. Was booked as an overnight pit stop for Thorpe park but actually wished we’d spent more time there. Quirky, cosy and everything you needed like ironing board, hairdryer, toiletries, coffee machine etc. even snack in the room (chargeable). Literally 5 mins to Thorpe park
