Overall, this hotel is in a great location, and the front desk staff were extremely kind. Breakfast each morning was also very enjoyable.
My disappointment began when I entered my room and found a dirty, brown, wet towel hanging in the bathroom. It was on the same hook as the robes, which appeared unused. Because the robes were still tied, it seems likely that housekeeping didn’t take a closer look and therefore missed the towel hanging over one of them.
This raised a larger concern for me: if something appeared clean or unused, it may not have been properly checked or replaced between guests. That left me feeling uneasy about whether other items, such as towels and sheets, had been thoroughly cleaned.
I alerted management, and they promptly removed the towel and the robe. That evening, I returned to find an apology letter from a manager, along with a bottle of unlabeled sparkling wine in a bucket of water and a piece of cake. While the gesture was kind and appreciated, the cake had been sitting out, and the wine was unidentified. Truthfully, as I was traveling alone, I wasn’t particularly interested in having a full bottle of wine in my room.
Again, I do appreciate the thought behind the gesture, but I would have preferred a form of compensation that felt more practical or personalized.
