We were in the area to visit Hadrian's wall. This hotel is an ideal base and close to many sites. Comfortable room and great food for breakfast and dinner. Staff friendly and welcoming. Would stay here again.

Lovely Hotel, surrounding area beautiful too. Close to Gateshead & A69, but so peaceful. Rooms are lovely, and food and service to match , will return for sure.

We had a lovely time here. We were driven to the starting point of the walk by Catherine, who was fab. Food was delicious, and the room was very cosy and clean.

Bowes is perfect for visiting Hadrian’s Wall and the many forts and museums around. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate both nights at the Bowes and the food on both nights was very good. The Thai food was delicious and you could tell it was all freshly prepared and cooked. The bed was comfortable and ideal for us after long walks. We would have no hesitation in staying again.

Loved this place! The staff were so pleasant and helpful. The room was lovely, with all of the extras you might need waiting there for you. The pub downstairs had great food and drinks.

A nice place

Superb relaxing stay at the Bowes Hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The food was excellent, all home made and plenty of choice on offer. They also cater for vegetarians and vegans which made my day! All the Thai dishes on the menu are authentic and very good. The Thai mains can be made vegan or vegetarian with tofu or quorn. The breakfast was also brilliant with plenty of choice for all dietary requirements. They cooked me a full vegan breakfast and supplied me with oat milk for my coffee and cereal and vegan spread for my toast. They certainly made a real effort to accommodate my dietary needs. The hotel is spotless and the bedrooms are finished to a very high standard. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and the shower nice and powerful. The train station is a stone throw away and the location is perfect for exploring Northumberland. I will definitely return to this hotel and would highly recommend it to my family and friends. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

The hotel building seemed very old, but the inside has been very well modernised. Everything about our room was excellent. We had a very good evening meal and a super breakfast. It must be one of the best bed and breakfast hotels we have ever stayed in

Hotel was close to Vindolanda and walking on Hadrians Wall where we spent our day. Dinner at the pub and the breakfast included was one of the best full-English meals we've had on our 3week journey in the UK. Room was newly remodeled and very comfy beds.
