The bathroom is terrible. Leaking shower and mould around the edges. The linens were not clean

The Chaarya Resort and Spa is a gorgeous hotel set in a beautiful palm tree lined property. They have a very refreshing pool, a cool outdoor bar, pool table, games area, gym and spa facilities. The grounds are absolutely immaculate, they have multiple gardeners working the lawns all the time. The hotel consists of multiple 1 or 2 story buildings meaning that its private and quiet. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The whole hotel has very chill vibes with music playing throughout. You definitely feel very relaxed throughout the stay. The only improvement I can recommend is the food at the restaurant. They probably need more variety throughout the days. The food was average, not great. But the hotel is within walking distance to some fantastic local restaurants so it wasn't a problem. The value for money at this hotel is incredible.

Chaarya is a wonderful resort. The pool was awesome, the rooms superb, and the evening buffet was one of the best buffets I have ever experienced for less than $15usd. Great spot for visiting Yala.

Very nice resort. Very accommodating. Decent restaurant. Swimming pool, Bar. Pooltable, bathtubs. One TIP: Bring mosquito spray for night time, its close to the jungle obviously

Superb staff - courteous and helpful

The room was fine except for the problem of flies in the room. I didn't appreciate the treatment my driver received. In Sri Lanka hotels offer free accommodation to drivers. This hotel at first refused to give my driver that service with the sorry excuse that I was a foreigner! What does that have to do with anything!? It was a lot of trouble to get the hotel to give us and my driver the same service they grant to Sri Lankans.

Sehr schöne Anlage und Zimmer. Die Zwei Herren von der Bar machen einen Super Job. Leider ist das Buffet nicht gerade 4Stern gemäss und man kann nicht draussen essen. Den Spa Bereich sollte man meiden. Sehr entäuschend.

Good small hotel but the food range was limiting. Thr Spa was real let down.

The rooms were very bad condition. Had lots of insects. The bedsheets were dirty. Towels were worn out. The double bed was made by combining the two single beds which had abig rough edge in the centre. Lots of mosquitoes. The manger on duty in the evening was dressed up not for work but as if going for stroll. Very unhelpful manager. Flies all around in the dining area and on food.

Good hotel and good location for safari. Helpful staff. Pool bar could do with offering a wider menu selection.

No hot water for 3 days rude staff and below standard food - very low grade hotel

Greit hotel. God service og godt mat. Hotellrommet var noe slitt og bassenget langt mindre enn en fikk inntrykk av på bilde. Uansett et greit bassengområde. Mange fluer overalt, men det gjorde hotellet så godt de kunne for å minimerer.

Don't trust the hotelmanager. One day before arrival in the hotel, we received an email, saying that due a maintenance issue our booking had to be relocated to another hotel, which would provide the same level of service. However, looking on internet we found many disappointing reviews for this hotel. After a many phone calls we did not receive a satisfying response to our request for a suitable alternative. We decided to go to the hotel to have a conversation with the hotel manager. However, upon arrival we were very surprised to see cars and coaches with many guests, putting their suitcases in the arrival hall. We asked the manager, what maintenance issue caused our relocation in another hotel. He then responded, that the hotel rooms had bugs. I asked the manager, if he did not feel embarrassed putting his guests in rooms full with bugs. He then responded that some guests did not care. I asked several arriving guests if they knew about bugs in their rooms. They all said, that they were not informed and did not know about bugs at all. Eventually we spent two days in the Hibiscus Garden Hotel opposite the Chandrika. A very nice quiet hotel, good service and excellent meals. Cheaper with half board and the Chandrika with breakfast only.

Spacious, comfortable and clean room, nicely decorated. Large bathroom with a waterfall shower and a corner bath. Staff friendly. Plentiful buffet for breakfast and dinner, good selection of western and Sri Lankan dishes. Reasonably priced food and drink. Very nice pool. Less than 30 minute drive to Yala National Park.

Wonderful massive room! The hotel organised our visit to Yala NP no problem. The only slight issue we found was that there was a wedding celebration being held there so there was very loud music until at least 1:30am! Luckily we were tired enough that we could sleep through it!

Upon checking in and circling around, no staff person could tell us where the room was. Nice overall room size with balcony and bathroom but the shower leaks and lack of hot water, slight mildew smell and killed several mosquitos in the room with no mosquito netting for the bed. Found a colony of red ants at our door entrance next day, staff came to kill it with spray but left all the dead ants there. 2nd night found rat droppings in the room and on the bed specifically on the pillow. Disgusting. Safari to the Yala Nat'l Park was a joke which the hotel arranged the driver for us. They force you to rent a jeep because they dig tons of potholes in the road and the amount of jeeps in the park you are literally stuck in TRAFFIC most of the time with nothing to see. The driver couldn't drive the jeep and at the end tried to squeeze an extra 5000 rupees from us. Hotel should use a more reputable jeep service. Actually save yourself some grief and don't do the safari. The dining area was dirty and had flies constantly with limited food selections. Tuna was going bad hence being so fishy but they still served tuna to the customers. Lack of WiFi.

The communication/awareness to be improved. I was at halfboard basis wchich included breakfast & lunch.There was no buffet but as per a menu ordered., But it was fine. The issue was they didn't specify in the lunch menu, what were included for half board basis and some items they billed seperatley at a high cost. Except that other things were ok.
