Awesome location overlooking the water.

Lovely staff, beautifully view, great room that was perfect for my needs

I love the quirkiness of The Anchorage - have stayed there many times. The location is great - I didn’t use the car while there. Was a little disappointed that the cafe no longer serves breakfast - and that it was closed Friday - but I survived :)

Ok, Queen spa room. Spa great, free mini bar, nuts n chips 2xwater, red wine was very good ARC 21 Shaz, S.A. wine Barossa. only minor issues, the clips on the curtains would come off when you open/ close. Door between main room and spa/loo/shower was off its hingers/broken. The main issue, went downstairs to order a pizza in the bistro, part of hotel, was told was too hard to take a pizza to out room. 2nd taking my mobile number to ring/text to say pizza ready so could pick up was also too hard.

The view was lovely. The bed was old and hard. There was no wifi and I came with work to be done. Care factor was poor and was told it was because of the thick walls. The age of the building was quaint but it needs some attention and comfortable bedding. Paid too much. Convenient to attractions.

First of all the hot water took a long time to get hot and then would turn quickly cold. The whole place has a dilapidated feel about it and the bedroom had nowhere to put suitcases, it didn’t have a wardrobe and although it did have an iron, there was no ironing table. Would not stay there again.

Filthy carpet, strong chemical smell in room, shower broken/leaky, toilet leaked noisily. Nice view from balcony

Unfortunately the bed was so small and hard we went home.

I booked a seafront heritage room. Our balcony on the side of the building was across the hall from our room and outside another guest’s window. Not truly ‘seafront’ nor private.

Völlig veraltet, Restaurant geschlossen,

Room small and very hot only a fan no airconditoning. Toliet and shower across public hallway. Pub not open for dinner on Sunday nor was the bar pass 6pm. Good view from balcony. There was a stuffup with the bill I had already paid for the room they charged me again x2 hopefully I get it back

We love The Anchorage, yesteryear building with all it’s character, nice change from all the bland modern offerings..

After over 2 weeks in Australia staying in 10 hotels costing from 120 to 250 per night, the Anchorage was the 1st disappointing hotel we had! Reasons: It is one of the most expensive hotel we booked. The WiFi was not working in our room, only in the lobby and pub, asking the question to a staff, he told us that the WiFi was not working in many rooms far from the lobby! While this is an historical hotel which we like, it is not maintained well, some lights are broken in the corridor, our room carpet was really very old, bad smell in our room, and so on. Also No climatisation in our room. We were very disappointed. On the pro side the pub staff and food were great and the hotel location is excellent.

Great place for a nice getaway

Good property dated but comfortable and clean wifi doesn’t work in the rooms only near reception
