A no-fuss gem hidden away deep in a suburb - it feels more like a home than a hotel. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, as it lacks the bells and whistles of staff fussing over you and high-end extras that you usually don't get to use. It is more like staying with your distant aunt in a rambling big house, where she stays in her room and you have run of the place. While the place may lack human hospitality, it more than makes up for it with generous, spacious comfortable rooms with more than a bed on which to perch. With just a 5 minute walk to the Homebush shops/takeaways and access to a modest kitchen with the basics to cook a meal (airfryer/microwave/fridge), you are totally self contained as well as handy to Olympic Park and the city via Homebush railway. Free parking is the deal maker for those coming by car.

Charming old style hotel, clean and comfortable, close to transport and shops. Need to bring your own supplies and WiFi in our room was hit and miss at times. Would go back when in Sydney again.

Beautiful place, comfortable and quiet. The location is walkable from public transport and there are several shops and restaurants nearby. My only issue was a weak WiFi signal in my room.

Wifi didn’t work from the bedroom

It was great value for money. Rooms were spacious. It had old world charm. It was ideal for our one week stay to attend Olympic Park!

one of my key card bugged a little bit and i couldn't get in the room for few minutes. the shared shower was a bit iffy to look at the ground is old , otherwise the property is very nice and old victorian features

Easy to book, Clear communication, no fuss check in. Helped with an additional request. I will defiantly stay here next time i am in Sydney

Parking is good

The hotel is great. So much character! The rooms are comfortable and really large. Shared bathroom was okay but hand towels (or even better, paper towels or a hand dryer) should be provided as there is no way to dry my hands after using the loo unless I take my bath towel with me (which would be weird , right?). We’ll definitely return but will book an ensuite room next time.

The door swipes hardly work the owner really needs to replace the system, blaming people for putting the swipe cards near a phone is not good enough

This was a great base for a 3 day working trip. Andrew was very kind and patient with instructions for check-in, it was whisper quiet, clean, and the bed was super comfortable. The location is excellent, being such a short walk to Homebush railway station. I’ll definitely stay again.

clean spacious room, parking easy at premises, beautiful restored house, minimum staffing but good location for driving and walking from both Strathfield and Homebush stations

We were late getting to Darcy’s after arriving on a late flight into Sydney. Andrew responded to our call to let us know how to get in and was very helpful. Great location, near cafes and restaurants. Room was large with kettle, cups etc. milk pods in the fridge but no tea or coffee. Unfortunately, we were woken up at 5:00am with a group of people talking very loudly right outside our room and doors banging. This went on for about half a hour when I then went out to see what was going on. Bed was large ( 2 singles pushed together) but not very comfortable, quite hard. Ok as a one night stop.

Great location, a lovely stay with an interesting history. The room was comfortable and spacious. There was great kitchen facilities and lovely common areas. Also off street parking.
