Hillcrest Mountain View Retreat is a hidden sanctuary. We hit the jackpot when we were searching for accommodation in the area to attend a wedding. Its location is nothing short of spectacular and the 360 views are breathtaking. Hosts Craig and Paul were so warm and welcoming, and a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Our room had such a comfortable bed with everything we needed and many more extras. The deck was made for unwinding with a daybed and hammock inviting you to linger and recharge, while absorbing Nature all around you. There was a lovely sitting room, dining area, a well-stocked library, and swimming pool (which we didn’t have time to swim in). It was therapy just being there, including the collection of art and artefacts. One of the highlights was breakfast, with a menu that you wanted to stay a week to sample chef Paul’s culinary delights. As we’d only booked one night, leaving was hard, knowing there was so much more. However it gives us a reason to return because we left wanting more.

Everything was just magic. Paul and Craig are amazing hosts. Room, balcony , views, pool and THE FOOD , wow. Best weekend away to relax and chill without a doubt.

We stayed at several locations on out journey from Sydney to Cairns, and this place stood out as an absolute Gem. Paul and Craig were just wonderful hosts, the location was stunning and the accommodation was spacious, luxurious and supremely comfortable. Pauls food was brilliant. A very special country retreat. Craig and Paul made us feel so welcome. The house and room very comfortable, and the food delicious. The grounds were spot on and the veiws from the verandah and pool were spectacular.

Great single night spent here for the Tyalgum Music Festival. Hosts Craig and Paul made me feel right at home and I got to enjoy a beautiful brekky with a lovely view before heading home. Can recommend, thanks guys!

We stopped here on our drive up the coast as a little pit stop and it ended up being one of our favourite spots! Craig and Paul were brilliant hosts and chefs, we were made to feel very welcome and we even extended our stay to enjoy the view, pool and food. We will be back!

Our stay at Hillcrest was very pleasant, thanks to the polite and accommodating hosts. They made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our visit. The home-cooked breakfast was a lovely touch. The quietness of the location was also appreciated, providing a calm and relaxing environment for us to unwind. Overall, Hillcrest offered a nice, peaceful stay with thoughtful touches that made our time there enjoyable.

Paul and Craig were very welcoming and the retreat is beautiful.

From the moment you arrive a sense of tranquility comes over you. Paul and Craig are the most wonderful hosts and greet you with a true warmth. The location and views are breathtaking. You can do as much or as little as you want. Great bush walking country all around. But curling up on the daybed out side your room or in the pergola is the best thing…that is until dinner is served!!! Paul provides a fantastic selection for your 2 or 3 course meal. We had dinner both nights we were there and it was amazing. Craig provided simply outstanding service. It’s dog friendly and has an incredibly large dog run. Hillcrest Mountain View Retreat has it all don’t think twice book it now, you won’t be disappointed.

I took my partner here for his birthday and to have a quiet retreat for a few nights. We absolutely loved the place and most of all, Craig and Paul. I can’t recommend more, a stay at Hillcrest especially if you want to stay somewhere beautiful, comfortable and relaxing. And of course you should book a dining experience with the guys. The food was fabulous!
