This is the second year in a row that I've visited this property to relax during my birthday. Booked the Caring For Body, Soul and Self Spa Getaway, which includes a $100 credit for spa treatment, 3 course dinner and breakfast the next morning, as well as afternoon tea during your spa treatment. I also booked an additional spa package to make the most of my stay. My spa technician, Shelbie, was amazing, got me completely relaxed. So was the friendly and very helpful receptionist. The only downside to the spa locker room were the lockers themselves: they installed a new lock system which, even if you follow the instructions, you can actually lock them, but not unlock. I practiced with 4 different ones and couldn't open any of them up at all. Brittany helped open with the master code so all was good at the end of the day.
Afternoon tea was delicious and beautifully presented. Dinner was scrumptious, a couple negative comments I have about the main course is that there were too many pecans accompanying the ravioli when I expected it to be just enough for crunchiness and flavour, versus the bottom of the plate being layered in them. It was too much to finish. In addition, I felt there was more liquid (maple butter sauce) than there should have been. Service was great.
Breakfast was also very appetizing, and presented well. Coffee was hot and kept flowing when requested.
View of Sturgeon Lake was also breathtaking, and I witnessed mix of sun, rain and +18 C the first day, and woke up to +2 C, light dusting of snow and tons of fog the next morning, which disappeared around 9am.
