The staff were so friendly and the breakfast was very chic.

Staff were excellent esp Julia. Pleasant, friendly and helpful. Evening meal at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Breakfast is good quality. Good selection though repetitive over the few days we stayed. Indoor pool (basement) and outdoor pool (roof). Spa & sauna though I didn’t get to use. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Do note that no iron in the room even on request. There is charge to get ironing done. Also the airport shuttle is not complimentary 40 EUR charge. They don’t offer half board - bed & breakfast.

We had an amazing stay at Castanheiro Boutique Hotel. The staff couldn’t be more accommodating and friendly. Any request was granted with a smile. Our room had long views over the sea and the surroundings. We enjoyed using the rooftop pool and spa pool with the sauna and steam room. A very varied variety of the inclusive breakfast each morning set us up for each day. The hotel is perfectly placed for walking to central Funchal, and a very short walk to the beach

Excellent smallish and stylish hotel, boutique like but not pretentious. Very Helpful, friendly staff. Quiet street but 2 min walk into tourist spots. Rooms were good, gym is a bit tired, downstairs swimming is small but the spa, sauna and rooftop pool and sun area are really great. Excellent Fine dining in restaurant with very good breakfast. Would definitely return.

Castanheiro Boutique Hotel is a fantastic place to stay in Funchal. The hotel features a beautiful rooftop bar and pool with panoramic views over the entire city — the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The rooms are very comfortable, and the breakfast offers a wonderful variety of options. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Its super central location makes it easy to explore the city, with all major tourist spots within walking distance. Highly recommended!

The check-in was extremely welcoming, the room was lovely and all staff were helpful and friendly. This is a great hotel, the rooftop area is a real treat, esp. when the sun is shining.

Nous avons passé un séjour exceptionnel dans cet hôtel, avec un personnel formidable et aux petits soins. Les équipements sont tout ce qu’on attend de ce type d’hôtel. Le petit déjeuner est exceptionnel. Le Rooftop avec la piscine offre un plus non négligeable. Ce fut un déchirement au départ de l’hôtel…

Everyone on the hotel staff was so nice and made us feel at home. The hotel was beautiful with wonderful views of the city. The pool deck was really nice and relaxing. Our spa services were outstanding!

We enjoyed the location of the hotel at the friendly staff at the reception. The food at dinner was not really great and the overall service in the restaurant for breakfast/ dinner as well. The coffe was old and cold when served, or nobody served one for a long time etc

Overall a good experience. Our room was upgraded to a junior suite upon arrival which was a nice touch however a night there was a lot of noise until late as well as early in the morning. I’m not sure if this was due to location of the room (being on first floor and above the dining room/kitchen). It was difficult to sleep, especially if you’re a light sleeper.

This was my second time staying at this property and it was fantastic once again. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. I will continue to stay here when I return to Madeira. Love it....and the pool area is pretty special too!
