Reception staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we arrived and helped us with our bags. The room was quite big and had a side sea view and it was lovely sleeping with the window open, listening to the sea. The room was very hot but better on second night as we'd left the window open all day. The room and bedding were clean. Room decor was very plain, could have done with a few pictures. As other reviews have said, hot water took a while to come through and even then, was fine for me but my husband prefers a hotter shower. Also, the water didn't drain away quickly enough. No food or bar available but we knew this beforehand. There are plenty of choices of cages, pubs and restaurants within 5-10 minites walk for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was excellent value for money bit bear in mind, the low price reflects the fact that decor could do with an overhaul. At this price though, we would definitely consider staying again.

Huge and spotless room! Nice restaurant area, felt a bit strange it wasn't in use when we were there, but so nice we could use it for lounging!

We booked a deluxe room for a very reasonable £63. We weren’t expecting much and as we were only staying one night it was just a place to rest our heads. However, we were very pleasantly surprised, a large room with good sized shower room and storage and tv. We stayed in November on a very cold day and the room was a very cosy and comfortable temperature. Our room had an amazing view looking out over sea too. The location of the hotel is excellent. Yes the hotel is a bit tired and needs updating, but the room was clean, staff were friendly and the bed was very comfy. Perfect for what we needed.

The warm welcome, and the wonderful staff, Rachel was so helpful with my stay, and went the extra mile after I had a fall,, nothing was too much trouble, for the hotel to make the most of my holiday , I had left,,, the hotel is in a fantastic position, near every thing you need, it feels like home from home to me , thankyou again to all the staff, who made my stay x

The staff were both very friendly and helpful unfortunately the hotel bedrooms have been allowed to run down which is a shame as the public areas are very nice and the position of the hotel is the best in the town Management really do need to put this hotel back to its former glory it would then be a huge asset to the town

Staff were great. The Property is tired would be nice to see it brought back to its former glory. Rooms were clean and tidy. Lifts out of order. And no restaurant service. But in all nice location and big rooms

Staff were lovely, ground floor of hotel was very grand we requested a nice room with sea view which we had booked for our wedding anniversary, we were assured they would do their best to make it special! (Linda) who didnt even work at the hotel? Our room was basic with a side view of the sea, the bathroom was tatty, the shower wasnt good and the toilet seat was the wrong shape for the loo! The tv was tiny and wouldnt turn on! The room was on the second floor which smelt musty and the lift was broken so not good for my authratic knees! Wasnt worth the upgrade, definitely had an inferior room as saw some of the others when cleaners were in! Disappointing stay which was meant to be special

Room was old but clean and all amenities were good. Only down side was they it was very windy and one top window wouldnt close

Great old place but needs some love. Bed ok pillows not so good. Heater works well but not towel rack. Water gets hot but not great pressure.

I liked it. Can't complain.

Pet friendly..no food or drinks available but fine for a one night stay. However iro room. 54 shower was ridiculously small if your hubby is 6ft 4 lol

Helpful, friendly reception staff. Good value stay. Spacious twin room. Londis shop very nearby to buy coffee and breakfast and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Loved the hotel lounge but it was a bit too warm for us to sit there too long. We hadn't pre-booked parking at the hotel but managed to find free parking nearby for the 3 nights we stayed. We would definitely stay again.

This is a grade 2 listed building and is beautiful. Some might say it's a bit outdated, but that's definitely part of its charm. We had a huge room that was very clean and comfortable. The lady on reception was fantastic and helped me up with our luggage while my partner parked the car. There is pre bookable parking at the rear for only £6 a day, and you can park out front to sort out your luggage. The views are spectacular, and the room was lovely and quiet. There's no food available but plenty of places to eat in or take out close by. Reception staff were fantastic and so happy to help. They made us feel like royalty from the moment we booked the hotel. There is a lift if you need it. We plan to stay again as it was perfect and so special.

Average hotel

This property is perfect for simplicity, quietness and walking. It's a lovely area for walking and enjoying some spectacular scenery. The staff were polite, the room were clean. Would stay again because it was dog friendly.

Brilliant location, really lovely staff. Value for money but don't expect frills.

Very good stay. All you require , clean comfy excellent position for all amenities. The dog enjoyed too !
