The staff were lovely and tried very hard but there weren't nearly enough to cover the workload. We weren't in a hurry but at dinner it took 2 and a half hours to get 2 courses and there weren't a lot of diners. We ate on a Wednesday evening around 7pm and 3 of the meal options were "off" and all pizzas so the choice was very limited. At breakfast the next morning the food was perfectly acceptable but the only preserve available was raspberry jam. The stock control really needs to up its game! The hotel is in a lovely position so it really could be so much better.

Good breakfast and no overall complaints. A fire alarm had all of us out of the hotel in the cold for half an hour at 4AM, but that's likely not on the hotel. I was a little surprised there were no apologies or offers to reduce the rate a bit or even a free breakfast or something because of the situation. Staff was across the board pleasant but kind of detached feeling. Seemed like this property wanted you to know it was your privilege to stay there. Rooms very dated and rather noisy interior. Overall clean, but probably places at the bottom of the list of properties I stayed in during a nearly two-week trip to Scotland and northern England.

As we visited in the month of May , it was cold and we had to beg to have the heat turned on. Once it was,it was comfortable. I do not think that the rooms have seen any updating since the 1970’s…the room furniture was not in good shape. The hotel is well situated overlooking Loch Lomond and easy to get anywhere. This breakfast was great!

The room was kind of clean was some webs hanging from ceiling all staff were amazing friendly and helpful breakfast was a bit of a nightmare no bacon beans bread butter we did complain and they gave us a refund

Overall, poor standard of accommodation for £140 per night. Cleanliness and maintenance standards were very low. Had to ask for a move of room as couldnt even open the windows in our room. 2nd room was marginally better, st least we could get some fresh air!

Following its recent refurbishment, The Tarbet Hotel blends historic elegance with modern comfort in a stunning location, great for hillwalkers and couples. My only critique is that the dinner service was a bit slow and the menu felt like poor value for money, but we enjoyed the fish pie and chicken schnitzel. Breakfast was exceptional!

You should try to install lights by the bed for reading. Room and stay was good for the money and location.

Lovely, classic style hotel with views of Loch Lomond & surrounds. Helpful, pleasant staff, fairly quiet location despite being on main road, and parking available.

Just an experience in staying in a very old hotel built lifetimes ago. It was amazing.

Room was large and pleasant. The food was on the salty side but ok. Breakfast was understaffed but the staff present were lovely, just not enough to keep the buffet supplied well or clean the tables. Think the hotel a solid option for the area and reasonably priced.

This is a very nice hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond.
