Staff were excellent, food excellent. Rooms were clean but could do with a bit of a refurb, especially one we were in, ensuite fan not working and there was some mould in there. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Wonderful little pub, stylish decor, good food, friendly service and a very comfy bed. Highly recommend it as a base for exploring the area.

Very pleasant and helpful staff

Lovely quiet village not far from Thirsk and the A1(M). A friendly welcome and a clean comfortable room. We booked for dinner and the food was delicious and service equally friendly. A 10 minute walk after dinner to the abbey ruins down the road was a nice surprise. Great bed and tasty breakfast. All in all an enjoyable place to stop over on the way up to the Lake District. Only down side was that we couldn't connect to their internet.

Stay was ok, i am vegetarian and it was like being an after thought. One choice on the menu which was pasta. I gad a starter as a main coursein the end. No alternatives for a vegetarian breakfast. I justvthink its a bit poor. I pay the same as others and there is no alternative

Nice friendly welcome, nice bar area. Ideal to explore from and a great breakfast. Would visit again.

Lovely staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Well worth staying for dinner, great menu choice. I had the cheese souffle starter borh days , delicious. Will definitely stay again if we're in the area.

Our second visit, delighted with the room. Evening meal was fantastic and breakfast set us up for the day ahead. Look forward to finding an excuse to visit again.

What a gem! We were on a coast to coast cycle tour when we stayed, tired, bedraggled, hungry and potentially grumpy, but the warmest of welcomes, lovely accomodation and fabulous tasty food put the smiles back on our faces. Owners and staff could not do enough for us. Cannot too highly recommend this great place.

I love it when something exceeds our expectations, and this stay did. Awesome hosts, outstanding dinner and a huge breakfast (Make sure you book a dinner time before you go. They are very busy and there is nowhere else around to eat). Highly recommend.
