Very isolated location, staff nice but difficult to communicate in English. The hotel feels tired and the images on Expedia are not representative

Hotel room was small but worked for us. The meals were elaborate and the onsen nice.

Love private in-room onsen, breakfast and dinner! Amazing ryokan with great service. We look our stay here. The room is spacious! The private spa bath might look small in the photo but actually it is perfect for 2 adults. Highly recommended!

Chambre dans l’annexe avec bain thermal (Onsen) privatif. Belle chambre à la japonaise avec tatami. Seul défaut : le odeurs de friture du restaurant. Très beaux bains collectifs.

マタニティー旅行として利用しましたが部屋の露天風呂は安心して何度も入ることができてよかったです。お料理は豪華で美味しくいただきました。スタッフの方の丁寧な対応のおかげで素敵な思い出となりました。

Room was clean loveeee the private warm bath in our room. It was pure bliss sitting in the bath hearing natures outside. Food was good and very generous - glad we booked food with our room as theres not a lot of place to eat around esp if you don’t have a car. Very convenient with the bus stop and family mart right outside. Was a very nice peaceful break from Tokyo.

The private hot spring is great. To use the public one at the hotel, no swimsuits are allowed. Some features of the hotel could use some updating. The front desk staff sometimes spoke English and sometimes were helpful. The food was pretty good. But the amount of food served in insane, and honestly I wish there was an à la carte option. There are no restaurants close by.

スタッフさんの対応が丁寧にでよかった。飲み物が終始飲み放題なのがうれしい。部屋の露天風呂もよかったし、大浴場も綺麗でよかった。ただ別邸の方にしたけど写真よりは狭めに感じたかな。でも快適に過ごせました。

-Da Ryokan liegt ca. 30 Minuten Abseits von Hakone in den Bergen. Wer diese Erfahrung sucht, ist hier genau richtig. -In der näheren Umgebung gibt es leider nicht viel zu tun oder zu sehen, allerdings gibt es einen Family Mart ca. 30 Meter neben der Einfahrt. -Der Empfang ist wie erwartet sehr freundlich und hochprofessionell -Das Zimmer ist für fans des traditionellen Japan ein Traum. Futons, Tatami-Matten und ein eigenes Privat-Onsen sind auch vorhanden. Das Privat-Onsen haben wir nicht genutzt, da es leider kein besonders schönes Ambiente bietet. Allerdings können paare hier zusammen baden. -Das öffentliche geschlechtergetrennte Becken ist dagegen sehr schön. Man muss sich allerdings darauf einlassen, dass nackt gebadet und gewaschen wird, nach japanischer tradition. Hier lohnt es sich, sich vorher schlau zu machen. Das Wasser ist ebenfalls von hervorragender Qualität. -Fur den gesamten Aufenthalt werden Getränke, Sandalen und eine Yukata bereit gestellt. -Das Frühstück war ebenfalls japanisch. Wer lieber Brötchen und Käse als Fisch, Reis und Misosuppe hat, der sollte sich lieber etwas aus dem Family Mart holen. Fazit: Für mich als Japan und Thermenfannwar dies die Erfüllung eines traums. Wem Nacktheit vor Anderen und typisches japanisches Essen nicht liegt, der wollte sich vielleicht etwas westlicher es suchen. Dieses Ryokan verbindet Tradition und Moderne ganz fantastisch.

This was an amazing stay. The room was immaculate and clean. All amenities were in perfect working order. The food was top tier. The bus stop was right next to the building. I highly recommend checking it out if you plan on visiting Hakone.

Beautiful ryokun experience with a lot of good traditional food. Would recommend for new and old visitors to enjoy and relax.

Had the most luxurious meal of my entire trip here

This was the best place I stayed on my recent Japan trip. If you're doing "The Hakone Loop", you might miss it, as if you catch the ship to Motohakone on Lake Ashi you will end up a while away. But! The staff here are lovely, the onsens are amazing, the dinner is phenomenal (and unbelievably huge), the rooms have a lovely atmosphere and are so comfortable, there's a bar with unlimited free drinks, and it's easily accessible via the Hakone Tozan Bus. It's right next to a convenience store too, if that's important to you. I'll remember my stay here for a long time!
