The Fleece is in a great position, right on the Church Green. Perfect for where we needed to be. Our room (room 2) was upstairs in building across from the back of the pub. Large room with a very comfy bed and pillows. Uncomfortably hot as we stayed during a very hot week. Fan provided but only pushed warm air around the room and the window was very small so not much air coming in. Bedroom and bathroom were a bit tired. Window blind hanging off and toilet seat barely attached but we did inform the duty staff member when we left as it wasn't the end of the world while we were staying. Nice staff and good evening meal. Didn't have breakfast but enjoyed sitting outside the front of the pub with cold drinks. Despite a few downsides we would definitely consider staying again

It exceeded my expectations.

Our room was spotless with everything you needed in it. The staff very helpful and friendly. We had a Sunday roast and then breakfast the following morning which was very nice. Will definitely return.

Not happy. Was 38 degrees heatwave in the UK and called to check if they had air conditioning. They say no. Only fans . I checked if I could cancel and not helpful at all . The fact that was the worse day of the year and not willing to compromise made me think about going back

arrived early and staff were busy because it was lunchtime. it is a busy pub so to be expected, however they were very helpful and checked our room was ready which it was so they let us in before the usual check in time. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable, but noisy with the windows open as it is a pub!. overall we had a very pleasant stay

A delightful pub/hotel overlooking a grassy area, perfectly situated in the pleasant small village of Witney. All of the staff were really nice and friendly. The pub was generally very busy with diners which indicates good food although we didn’t eat in. There is an outside area both front and rear to sit and a car park for guests. The room was spacious although maybe a little dated which is more than likely in keeping with the theme as it is a grade 2 listed building. A sash window which needs a little device to stop it falling down(easy to do) A large shower room/WC with a wonderful walk in shower. The shower itself I feel would benefit from either a shower mat or a rail as it is large and the base does get slippy. You need to be very careful also a shelf to put your shower gel etc. would be helpful. You need to keep bending down. The cabinet doors in the shower room were a little worn. The bed we found was uncomfortable (two beds put side by side), a little lumpy. The pillows were too soft for us. The mirror on the wall was filthy. The wardrobe mirror was good. A good tv on the wall. Tea and coffee making supplies. All in all a good stay.

Easy to park, friendly stafff on check in, lovely little town with a good choice of shops & pubs. Room was a good size for a family of 3. We booked last minute as a spur of the moment trip to see our son based at Brize Norton. Would I stay here again - probably not, the room was tired, the fan in the bathroom didn't work at all meaning it remained steamy after a shower for ages, the bathroom window was mouldy & damp because of this. The towel rail was extremely dusty & when i ran my finger over it it had clearly not been wiped over for some time, a clear indicator that the room is not throughly cleaned regularly. The main radiator in the bedroom we could not get it to work meaning we used the tuny electric radiator to get some warmth through. Main bed very large & comfortable & 13yr old son said the sofa bed was good too. Don't book ahead for breakfast its cheaper to buy as you go (or Weatherspoons is a gew steps down the same road). We were in the annexe/out buildings very basic with no frills, didn't eat in the pub itself so can't comment on that but looked lovey inside. For the price it was ok but personally I like a little more luxury, it was simple & comfortable with friendly staff.

Good sized room (in annexe). Comfortable bed and pillows. Friendly staff. Drinks quite expensive (or possibly overcharged…?) Lovely location overlooking green and 2min walk to main town for lots of pubs & cafes. Easy car parking.

Hotel is lovely, staff are friendly but the room had no window so not the nicest

Very spacious family room, excellent shower & the bed was so comfortable! Hotel is also in a great location & parking was easy. Breakfast was wonderful too. On the downside, furniture in bathroom was warped (probably because extractor fan broken) & TV would not connect to the Internet so we couldn't use it. Customer service mixed...check in was great & nice goodbye, however girl behind bar was a bit abrupt on Sunday night. We came back for a drink around 9pm after a meal out and she was very quick to say we could have a drink (a bit like it was a favour) but she wanted to shut soon so that would be it. Might of been a bit more tactful and maybe explained what time due to close and ask if we would maybe like you order 2 drinks because of that. It did feel like we best drink up & go so I ended up taking my drink back to the room.

The location was great and it was nice to have parking. The rooms were okay. Decent sized and comfortable but mold in the window areas. The blind in the bathroom was moldy and did not cover the window properly. The Fleece is an old building so you will get flaws and quirks. We had two rooms and one room had no issues with hot water, but our room did. Every evening the water was tepid and we had to request that the heater got boosted. Fortunately it did not take long to get hot water. Our room overlooked the outside area of the pub and was very noisy one evening with drunken punters. The restaurant is good and there breakfast was excellent.

We stayed in a spacious room with a modern bathroom. The staff were all friendly and the location was great on the Green. Lots to do in Witney and the breakfast was delicious in the morning.
