The Hela cabin was a wonderful stay for 3 people, it was charming and cozy. There were also horses living on the other side of the fence, we had a joy feeding and petting them! The location was also a plus, far enough from town to enjoy the stars and country atmosphere, but near enough for a short drive for meals and groceries (~10 mins).

Check in at Alfastein was stated as 6pm and that’s all the information we received initially. Luckily, we found Agust’s phone number and he helped us locate the key to let ourselves in. Soon after, Keli, the host came to welcome us and made sure we were settled. He made us feel very welcome, since we had to leave very early in the morning he fixed up the coffee for us and even offered a huge bag of bread to feed to the horses. This was such a memorable activity. We also got to see some Aurora although it was a bit cloudy. The whole house was very clean, full of interesting items, the beds were incredibly comfortable after a long day and we were warm all night. I wish we could’ve stayed here several more days. Thank you for your hospitality.

Muy agradable la estancia, la habitación familiar no es gigante, pero caben perfectamrnte 5 personas con sua mochilas y maletas. Es verdad que el baño es compartido con otras habitaciones, pero estaba muy limpio y aseado. El desayuno estuvo de maravilla y la dueña muy amable.

August hat uns das Häuschen zugeteilt, wo wir kochen konnten - toll, danke dafür! Es war sehr sauber; das Doppelbett ist etwas eng, aber ansonsten prima. August ist ein megafreundlicher und interessanter Gastgeber, das Frühstück war immer unterhaltsam. Teuer ist es natürlich, aber leider ist das auf Island kaum irgendwo anders.

Perfect sized cottage for two travelers exploring the countryside. Great location with great views. Great service with a delicious breakfast. And the recommendations on what sights to see were superb.

Quiet and beautiful Icelandic experience!

Our host was very gracious and really took care of us. The room and WC area were great. The breakfast provided was a feast. And, we talked about some of the things we were still hoping to see and his knowledge of the country provided some direction that was really helpful, allowing us to see more of what we had read might be possible.

Super consigliato fermarsi qui! Siamo stati benissimo. Il padrone di casa ci ha accolti calorosamente, molto gentile e disponibile. È stato molto piacevole chiacchierare con lui della vita in Islanda, delle sue esperienze, ci ha guidati con ottimi consigli. La casa è molto bella, calda e accogliente, in mezzo alla natura, si respira una pace assoluta e profonda. La camera era bella, confortevole e pulita. Il bagno è in comune ma comunque pulito. Il padrone di casa ci ha lasciato usare la cucina per prepararci la cena, visto l’arrivo in tarda serata. Al mattino viene servita una abbondante e gustosa colazione. Torneremo qui sicuramente!

Cute and cozy cabins. Host was very pleasant and a wealth of information about Iceland as he is well travelled. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. Appreciated the small signs to help find the property as otherwise would have been challenging to locate.

We booked the accomodation via expedia though it was closed and not prepared for guests when we arrived on site. The host was not on site but managed a friend to prepare everything for us and hand us over the key - so we had the entire appartment for our own and a very firendly and helpful neighbour. Great service!

Easy to find from the Ring Road, very clean and friendly cottage - great stay!

The owner is friendly and fun. We arrived after 10pm but he was waiting for us there. The best part is he shared lots of his adventures and photos. We were so inspired by his interesting life. And we had great chat with other passengers too during the nice free breakfast. This is the best stay of our Iceland trip! We loved it

Beautiful accomodations and an amazing host. You won't regret booking here.

We stayed in one of the cottages. It was very quiet and comfortable. There are no restaurants for dinner near by so plan ahead. The breakfast was included and had a good selection of things to eat. It was served at a big table in the main house and gave us a chance to meet the host and the other guests.

Our host was very nice and taught us a lot about Iceland. We stayed in a cottage, which was very cozy and had a kitchen and refrigerator. The garden and the building were very beautiful and comfortable.

Der Gastgeber war sehr nett und lustig. Frühstück war hervorragend. Die Cottages waren originell und sehr sauber. Alles in allem ein Traum!
