A bit hit and miss, convinced I booked a club room through Expedia, free parking and swim and breakfast. Apparently I hadn't ( according to the Hotel ) so had to pay to park, they waivered the swim payment as we only had an hour left on a Sunday ( closed at 1930 ) Checked in on a Sunday and forgot the following day was a Monday so arrived at 0900 for breakfast which was all over, so a bit of a disaster, some my own doing for not reading the breakfast times properly.

Terrible experience – Unusable room and poor hygiene I had to check out immediately and secure alternative accommodation. The room had no windows (only a small glazed bathroom window hardly providing any daylight), making it impossible to work, which was critical for this trip. This wasn’t disclosed on the listing. Hygiene was unacceptable: water glasses had dust and lipstick stains, coffee cups were dirty, the desk chair was heavily stained. The reception staff refused to inspect the room when asked. Refund was declined via hotels.com. My email to the hotels has no response since 14/07.

Club rooms are excellent. Gym and pool facilities are state of the art!

We stayed in Room 222 at the Village Hotel Bristol and were shocked by the standard of cleanliness. The room was clearly not cleaned properly, with obvious stains on the chair that should never have been left for paying guests to see. The worst part was waking up in the middle of the night and the following morning with both of us desperately scratching our arms and bodies. We have continued to suffer with intense itching since leaving the hotel, completely ruining the end of our trip and leaving us extremely concerned about the hygiene of the room and bedding. Cleanliness is the absolute minimum guests should expect, yet this room fell well below even a basic standard. We left feeling uncomfortable, disappointed and questioning how this room was considered fit for guests. I would strongly urge the management to carry out a full inspection of Room 222 and review their housekeeping procedures before anyone else has a similar experience. Sadly, based on our stay, I would not recommend this hotel.

Really helpful staff member on arrival - This is a self-check in hotel, but the staff member very graciously guided me through the online check-in process when I had trouble. Really nice room- just a shame that the Aircon didn’t work on a particularly hot evening, so I didn’t sleep well, but when I mentioned it upon checkout, they assured me that that would be fixed so I imagine it’s a one off. While they offered a free canned water and chocolate bar as part of the club rooms, because there was no fridge or working Aircon, these were warm and the chocolate bar was melted. A mini fridge would be a nice addition to the club rooms - just a suggestion :) Other than that, the facilities were great - I took advantage of the gym and spa pass which was excellent for the price. Breakfast was also good and the bar/ restaurant has a really modern cool look. Would definitely stay again (once the air cons sorted). Thanks for a really nice stay and I look forward to an even better experience next time.

The noise for the gym was an issue, music started at 6am directly below my room so better sound proofing please.

We are returning clients and found the staff to be extremely attentive, particularly during breakfast which exceeded our expectations. Great choice even for me……Mr Fussy eater! We stayed in a room with a King Bed, very comfortable and both slept well. The room was clean and maintained to a high standard. Recommend and definitely will return.

Staff is very helpful and kind. Breakfast is great and offers good Gluten free options. Swimming pool is not big but enough for quiet periods. Sauna and steam room is good. The ice tub was out of order during my stay. My room was okay but not properly cleaned. The carpet was visibly covered with debris and dust. Cobwebs all over. Window blind massively stained. Bathroom floor full of hair

Great hotel

The room was too small for two people. There was only one bottle of water. Its seem that the room was ment for single person as there was one one bath towel.

Clean rooms awsome staff

Lovely modern clean room with a very comfortable bed! The staff were great! Finn the bartender is a superstar! Location isn’t great for walking (plenty of Ubers available though) and it was a shame the bar didn’t stay open until the end of the 11pm World Cup kick-offs (at least they kept Scotland-Morocco on the big screen until final whistle, but not much fun without a beer!) The gym & pool look amazing but we didn’t get a chance to experience first hand. Very nearly 5-star! Location & bar closing time pinched a star! Still highly recommended - download the app for discounts if you plan to stay!

Another good stay at the Village in Bristol. Jordan on the front desk was very helpful with our late check in.

Think before upgrading to a club room as at this venue the offering is not necessarily an upgrade. Room extremely small compared to other village hotel club rooms and only set up for one person despite booking being for 2. Convenient location for M4 but Village are loosing their edge by being stingy with their premium offering. Gym was ok but limited on opening hours at weekends.

Not a terrible stay, but a fair few annoyances that made it a bit of a pain. The room smelled strongly of damp, the wireless phone chargers beeped when the phone was charged (which, in the middle of the night, took a little while to figure out), the electronic window blind didn't work so had a very early start, and the automatic check-in kiosk process didn't work ( I think because of adding a pool/gym bolt on after booking). There was a lot of heavy building going on outside, which means it was incredibly noisy from first thing on a Saturday morning; however, this one is obviously temporary. That all said, the staff were nice, and the hotel looked as it did in the listing. The gym and pool are a really nice addition to the stay.

Best village hotel we have ever stayed in! The staff were extremely helpful! Will be returning again!
