The bed was older and was collapsing on the edge of the mattress. I expected a bed mattress for the price of the room.

Shaw Club has become my favourite hotel in NOTL. It's a close walk to the downtown core, and really easy to get to from out of town with lots of parking. I have an EV, so the presence of multiple EV chargers is also very helpful. Rooms are nice, especially the club rooms in the adjacent building (though there's a set of stairs that's the only way to get to those rooms that might be tricky for some with limited mobility). Compared to other hotels in NOTL, Shaw Club is a good value, and very conveniently located. I'll happily stay again.

The staff were extremely helpful from the time we reserved the room through our departure. All were very accommodating and met our needs. Clean rooms! Big shower! Convenient to town and local sights! We would definitely stay there again!

Location was perfect!

Beautiful hotel in the perfect location in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Walkable to restaurants, shops, parks and Lake Ontario. Loved the bike rental on site, with several wineries within biking distance!

All good for a one nighter.

A hotel has one major job. That is to have a clean quiet room that guests can get a good sleep in. This hotel fell far short on that dimension. All the amenities and the staff were fine but that only counts if one can get a good night's undisturbed sleep. The air conditioner was old and noisy and went on and off all night every 5 minutes or so with a clunk. Every time it came on it woke me up so needless to say I got no meaningful sleep. In addition, the room smelled like a wet dog. Perhaps the previous guests had had a dog in there, or maybe it was just mold and mildew accumulated over the years. This is supposed to be a 4 or 5 star hotel, and with prices over $400 a night including tax they can afford to put in proper air conditioners that function without excessive noise. I give this two stars only because the staff were nice about everything. When I told the checkout clerk about my night, he offered $50 off the room rate, which I gratefully accepted. He was going to email me the room receipt because he seemed to be struggling with the system putting that credit in. I am still waiting for the email. Highly unlikely I will stay at the Shaw Club again.

Good restaurant, lovely property, helpful staff. Bathroom plug didn’t work and no dairy alternatives for dining. Only disappointments. Otherwise very pleasant stay.

Excellent location, beautiful grounds, convenient parking. Attached restaurant. Closed a little early on a Friday night but there are other options close by. Overall very happy and would definitely recommend and stay again.

Staff was incredibly nice. I found the room to be a bit underwhelming for the price. The location was really convenient and can’t be beat but that also means some street noise. Overall a very good stay.

The location was very good, however the room itself left much to be desired. The moment we walked into the room, it smelled like it had recently been painted. Lack of proper circulation with fresh air from outside, no vents visible. The room emanated some awful dated smell, like tacos, perhaps from a dirty carpet. No water bottles were found in the room as expected, until this was pointed out.

Lovely hotel, in an excellent location with parking, the staff were pleasant and very helpful. We only had one night at the hotel, but wished our itinerary would have enabled us to have a longer visit, the room was lovely and came with all the standard amenities but of a very good quality, the bed was huge and so comfy, we had a modern bathroom and the room also had a small patio area. We didn't eat at the restaurant on this occasion but we do intend to try this on our next visit to The Shaw Club Hotel.

Overall, a nice hotel with excellent service at the heart of NOTL; however, the king bed sunk on either side, the AC was distractingly loud, and the toilet ran water throughout the day and night.

The place was great. Are room was in the section with stairs, 16 stairs to be exact. It was tough getting our stuff up the stairs, we were ask if we wanted help, we declined, next time we will take them up on help.

Even though we had booked months in advance, they put my wife and I in a building in the back of the hotel which was above a resturant . There was no elevator and very steep stairs. We are an elderly couple - needless to say it was a struggle.
