Clean room

The place is basic, with a bathroom with very low water pressure, noisy at times, great view of the volcanoes and Lake Atitlan from the terrace, convenient walking distance to the lanchas piers, some good restaurants and tiendas, tourist-oriented shops, and yes, from the Panajachel river paragliding departure and landing facilities. The breakfast selection was really basic, either chapin or American, with anything extra like orange juice for an extra fee. One morning we had to wait way past 30 minutes to order. When we complained they informed us there was a group who made reservations ahead of us who needed to be served first. The pool we never used because they told us the water was very cold, yet one evening there was a group of young people enjoying it without complaining. We all loved Paco, the welcoming happy parrot kept in the lobby.

The location was excellent, the staff was super friendly despite the language barrier and the rooms were comfortable.

Wonderful and helpful staff. Really enjoyed our time at La Perla Maya. Breakfast is sit down with several extras if you want additional from what’s offered with el desayuno tipico or el desayuno americano.

The staff who greeted us at check in was rude, but most of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good and included. Coffee was amazing. I drank it without creamer and enjoyed it. Our room was equipped with everything we needed, and the water was hot. However, the water flow is very slow and will take a while to rinse shampoo/conditioner out of long hair. To note—some of the employees don’t speak Spanish well, only their dialect. My husband, who speaks 3 languages, had some difficulty with communication (some of the employees, not all). The hotel landscape is beautiful.

Lite kasst runt poolen, endast fattiga plaststolar och lite småkallt i vattnet. Ingen bar, ingen kyl, ingen möjlighet att få vatten. Stört fin utsikt och hjälpsam personal. Frukosten riktigt klen.

very friendly staff. The front clerk was very helpful in giving us things to do, and letting us know what to avoid as well.

Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and the shower had hot water! Breakfast was delicious too and the place was super close to the main spots in town. Nice size pool however it was too cold to swim.

Like A Hostel, Location Good, Breakfast Good, Room Condition Needs To Be Upgrade..

The Hotel was okay but the main entrance was kind of scary do that there is a river next to it and gives you the impression that something is going to happen to you. The front desk person needs to improve his costumer service.

La chambre était très comfortable, le déjeuner est simple et délicieux. Staff très sympathique. À deux pas du lac, donc l’abris du bruit de la ville.

Staff was great. Room was a dump. Bedding smelled terrible. Leak in the bathroom. Noise kept us up all night. Power went out in the morning. Stay at your own risk.
