Was the only place with availability, was extremely overpriced for what it was. Was very dirty, blood stains on the curtain, stains on the chair and bed. No cooling in the room that worked. Had to get them to come fix the light in the bathroom when I first showed up because that didn’t work. Would not recommend even if it was half the cost.

Hello. The rooms were clean. The staff very friendly.lots of parking. And the air conditioner worked great. The breakfast was nice. It has everything you need. I'd definitely stay there again.

There was mouse poop on our desk and we found a smashed earwig on our floor. Place is in tough condition

First room. The door wouldn’t lock. Second room we couldn’t get furnace a/c to work properly. Got awakened at 1:30 am. Sounded like someone was jackhammering above us. Floor felt like sand on it. Will not stay at this hotel again .

The AC unit is set up so you can't get it all the way down to cold. There's an actual screw drilled into it that only allows the dial to be turned down so far. Front desk lady screwed up putting my cc info into the system that my bank locked me out of it. There are unhoused addicts all over the property. Limited cameras monitoring the parking lot.

Non smoking room reeks of smoke

Do not stay here. Wish I could give 0 stars. It’s a homeless shelter basically, broken windows. Nasty. Garbage everywhere outside. Leaking water from toilet. Smelled like mold. Isolation hanging from roof by office.

The young gal who greeted us and proceeded with our stay was very knowledgeable and polite kind treated us with respect. Our room was clean but the bed was very hard . TV was not working during the time of fifa games . Phone front desk twice before we got someone to help , appeared was a loose wire at the front end . The place was very quiet but the outside was not inviting, inside was great

I checked out a day earlier than planned they didn't catw full charged today's bank statement says nearly 800$ charged to my credit card for 2 night stay

I did not enjoy my stay at Northern Star. While the price may reflect a more basic level of accommodation, the overall experience still fell well below reasonable expectations. The room was not properly maintained, with visible dust and general uncleanliness throughout. During my 9-day stay, there was no housekeeping provided—bed sheets were never changed, and the room was not cleaned at any point. I repeatedly had to request basic necessities such as towels and toilet paper, which was both inconvenient and frustrating. Noise was another major issue. Other guests were frequently partying late into the night, and despite raising these concerns with staff, no action was taken to address the situation. I also had serious concerns about safety. There were individuals gathered outside the hotel throughout the night, and on a few occasions, there were altercations taking place. This made me uncomfortable and concerned about the security of my belongings. I felt the need to park my vehicle directly in front of security cameras for peace of mind. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, poor service, ongoing noise disturbances, and safety concerns made for a very negative experience. I would not recommend staying here if other options are available.

Pretty old property, bed ok comfortable

I would definitely stay here again when in Slave Lake. It’s right across the street from a grocery store, a gym and lots of places to eat. The place wa clean and the bed was comfortable. The rooms were large and came with an iron and ironing board, fridge and other things one could use on an extended stay. The wifi was solid also. I only stayed one night and didn’t wake up early enough to try the breakfast so I cannot comment on that.
