Some of the rooms are outdated, but overall good

We had a wonderful vacation! The property was beautiful and our apartment was lovely. The dining room was so nice and the food delicious. We never used the pool, but the beachside chairs were lovely. We loved snorkeling, but getting into the ocean water was a challenge. The last day we used the stairs used by the scuba divers, so much easier, and safer for “seniors”!

The property was perfect for a long weekend, but there is only one restaurant and it only serves buffets.

Plaza is by far the best resort in Bonaire. We stayed in 2 bedroom lagoon apartment with 2 adults and 2 young adults. 2nd floor (had an elevator but we didn't use it) 1. Snorkel, SUP, and kayak free (check in/out at dive shop). Make sure you turn it in the night before you check out! 2. The room is amazing, spacious, and well decorated. View of the canals/lagoon was beautiful. 3. Beso bar and pool in the new section had a great staff, and we never fought for a lounge chair or pyramid lounger. 4. Main pool was picturesque. Bar staff were top notch. Always ready to offer up a cold beverage or cocktail with a smile. 5. Snorkeling: go to the left and snorkel by the steps (you'll know when you see it) for the best fish. 6. Rent a car. We used Easy Car Rental just down the road. The girl who owned the spot was great. Hooked us up short notice with a low-deck Tacoma for 3 days. Had it brought to us. She also rents golf carts. Highly recommend! 7. Food at the resort was top notch. 8. Bring water shoes... hard bottoms are a must 9. Wifi worked flawlessly. Everywhere in the resort was great, speeds were fast enough for facetime calls home, downloading/ uploading pics, and texting. Download an offline map on Google maps and you'll be able to do everything you want, get anywhere you want, all without using data. 10. Can't say enough about how great the staff was for us 11. Downtown area is a little far in the heat (100% worth doing). 12.Cabs are set prices on the island. $15 from airport

Property is beautiful, very friendly team of people working there and the food was awesome. Also very clean property and well kept. Looking forward to more vacations at this location

Wonderful luxurious experience. Great all inclusive food service with sushi at dinner and fresh fish grilled for both lunch and dinner! Kids had a blast.

The resort is going through some construction but we stayed in the completed area and it was very nice. The pool is nice. The cabanas and umbrellas get reserved quickly. Food can be repetitive but it was nice ambiance at the only restaurant. Watch out for the seagulls at breakfast

We stayed in the 2 bedroom royal apartment. The room was perfect. Staff is super friendly and helpful, shore snorkeling was great! My daughters did a scuba lesson and lived it!

Best in Bonaire! One of our favorite vacation destinations!

Amazing property. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great location!! Easy to rent a scooter right from property and scoot to town or take scenic drives up and down the coast. Gorgeous! The snorkeling right off the resort beach is some of the best so many fish species and the coral was in pretty good condition given the state of coral globally these days. Super convenient to set up dive trips from the resort too. Restaurant was really really good. If you like fresh fish and sushi you will love this food. Even so they had great beef, lamb and chicken options every meal too. Every dish is prepared with quality ingredients we never ate so healthy on vacation!! And the pool is absolutely one of the top pools we’ve been to on vacation. It is huge! And plenty of chairs and umbrellas at oil or beachside. Never have to wake at 4am to save a spot! We look forward to seeing the continued renovations for updating too. They are doing a GREAT job with the decor it is so upscale and just beautiful. We hope to return again soon I hope!! You will not go wrong with the plaza!

The staff in the restaurant and bar was incredible and the food was good. Upon arrival, the room was good except for the mattress topper and the air conditioner was not set upon arrival. Other than that, it was a nice resort.

Amenities are nice but the rooms have water damage and the smell of drainage comes back up into the rooms. The toilet paper holder and safe were broken too. This place is also under construction. Front desk and people were nice

I'm very glad I chose to come with my son as we got Open Water certified last year and this was our first set of non-training dives. We did six total and should have probably done three more as there are so many dive locations you can't get them all in within a five day stay. You will want to come back to Bonaire to get all the dives you can. The staff that work the dive shop are great. Super friendly, great personalities and awesome guides. Would book with them again if I return to Bonaire. The resort is the best on in Bonaire for location. Very clean and very well put together. Only draw back is it is extremely limited for people who like to spend most of their time at the actual resort. My wife would have been bored if she came as she doesn't dive or gamble. Only one restaurant which is buffet only. The food and seating is excellent, but after a few days it is repetitive. There is a ton of construction going on (which you don't hear) so I'm hoping they are building other options like most all-inclusive resorts have to offer. On the same note, no events or shows occur there. There is a casino which is in a weird location that does have the only local poker game at 9pm every night. One roulette table, I think three other table games, no craps, tons of slots. Stayed in the "old rooms" but I got probably the best room in the whole place. 2102 I stayed and the view from the balcony is probably the best room view I ever had. Pool, ocean, and restaurant all viewable.

We loved it and great deal.

The food is the same food daily. The fruits were sour. There is no room service. The drinks are not real fruit drinks. The toilet is by the front door. The best thing about this place is the operations manager Herman.

Van der Valk is an amazing hotel! The amenities, staff and the chefs were great. We are planning to return very soon. A special thank you to Sena (beach bar), Maika (front lobby), Anika (restaurant hostess) and Agnes (Yacht Charters) for making this vacation an unforgettable experience.

We love bon air, the people in Bonaire are wonderful as so is the La plaza
