Great stay in the Dovey Inn, everyone was super friendly and the room was big and confortable

Exemplary customer service and friendly staff - cannot fault them at all! Great dinner and breakfast too. Great location for anyone wishing to escape to a quiet fishing village and/or the local hills, whether for the views or watch the military jets flying low overhead (or below them!) Would very happily return and recommend! Highly recommend visitors also visit the birthplace inspiration behind Thomas The Tank Engine at nearby Tywyn Wharf Railway Station.

Fabulous

Great hotel, great room, great price and great food

Swift and easy check-in. The family room had two bedrooms which was a very pleasant surprise. Everything was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Could have done with a rubber bath mat but found out later we could have asked for one. Similarly de-caff tea and coffee I guess. We had our 4-year-old granddaughter with us but there were no issues with noise from the bar below. Limited menu but food was very good. Steaks were lovely. Nice pint too. Great breakfast. Excellent service from friendly, attentive, courteous and efficient staff. Would stay again.

Large family room with comfortable beds for our family of thee, but that’s where the positives end. Loud music/noise was on in the bar until bar closed, which echoed through the floors. The sash window was broken and would not close - the top half had to remain open/down overnight (Storm Ashley hit overnight). No hot water for a morning shower (8:30am). The room had not been fully cleaned from the previous guests as there was an old sock, loose change and a piece of fruit (pear!) under the bedside table. Not a great experience.

Friendly team from reception to breakfast, nothing was too much. Food was good with quick service. Ideal for business trip though amazing views right on the beach for a holiday stay too

There is alot of updating that needs doing as the hotel looks run down and tired. Beds were comfy though.

Good place to stay

Staff are friendly and welcoming, the room was a good size with a sea view and comfortable bed. The ensuite bathroom was huge. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and reasonably priced.

Aberdovey is a great place to visit and the location of Dovey Inn is perfect close to beach and shops, Great view from bedroom. We tend to eat out but the atmosphere in the Dovey is friendly and fun and dog friendly in the bar. Go often as we live only 1hour away.

Very busy in the bar and restaurant with insufficient staff to cope. The few staff there were, were excellent, but rushed off their feet and finding it difficult to cope. The public bar was noisy with loud music until midnight, the Friday, Saturday and Sunday I stayed, making it impossible to sleep any earlier.

Paid for breakfast, on checkin no mention breakfast not available, no breakfast, had to chase 3 times to get refund. Very poor service. Hotel ok. Bar bit rough.

The location of the hotel is good and the room was clean and spacious. The furniture was basic and limited but adequate for a short break only. The bathroom had a bad damp smell and the ceiling was mouldy. We reported this to the manager who said she would inform the manager on duty when we checked out. Clearly that manager knew nothing and was unconcerned. The staff generally were overworked and this impacted on the quality of service. We were told there would be breakfast available but when we went down in the morning there was no one serving, only the cleaner. Thankfully there is a very good resaurant a few doors down serving breakfasts, lunch and dinner but is only small so you need to book. We wouldn't stay here again.

Easy to find and easy to park. Lovely warm welcome. The room was huge with a lovely big bed, sea views and a great shower room. Above all, it was clean and comfortable. When we speak about it, we call it the Lovey Dover Inn.

This is a fantastic location overlooking the beach and inlet and our room offered wonderful views. The building has been an inn since 1729 and has lots of character. Rooms have recently been done up and are very comfortable. There’s sn excellent range of breakfast options to choose from for a reasonable price. A great place to stay!

Just what we wanted, the room, the staff & the food was spot on!
