Great place. Beautiful with great staff. The only issue is the intermittent wifi.

It was a nice natural setting, and I liked the quietness of being with nature.

I can't say enough about this superb hotel. Located out of town in a completely tranquil location, providing a perfect night's sleep. Food in the restaurant was consistently delicious over our four night stay, with local produce from the farm presented inventively., and a fully stocked bar! But the real asset is the staff - all of whom could not do enough for us. Thank you so much.

Stayed for 5 nights. Our experience was excellent. The staff and service were great (and upgraded us to a larger room after an incident with ants), the food was also great (try the chocolate pudding!), and nature is easily accessible throughout the property. The only minor downside is the rough road leading up to the lodge. Though most roads in remote villages of Malawi are nowhere near as bad, it just became time-consuming to enter and exit the property. Altogether a 5/5

Property is in secluded and safe area. This is major attraction Lots of ants in the bathroom. Thjs must be dealt with right a way Decor in room,needs update including new furniture, new paint, new closets. Kumbali must have stable internet for patrons to use. Kumbali to make sure there is uninterrupted water service. Kumbali to set up a Fitness room. . .

Wat een prachtige plek was dit! Toen ik het terrein opkwam kwam er direct gevoel van rust over mij. Omgeving is prachtig, restaurant is heerlijk en er hangt een fijne sfeer. Maar de service is echt datgene waar ze voor mij in uitblinken. Ze doen er alles aan om je verblijf zonder zorgen te laten verlopen en zijn ontzettend vriendelijk. Ik voelde mij echt in de watten gelegd worden.

The perfect getaway…rustic, romantic, restful and simply amazing. The safari style 2 kilometers to get here is worth it. The food is great, the menu varied, the staff attentive and kind and the owners are congenial…the room is amazing and you feel that you want to stay longer…

Th setting is beautiful. The monkeys greeted us several times. The pool was clean. The bathroom in our room was beautiful. Breakfast choices were fantastic and tasty. The smell of mold in our arrival was overwhelming. We asked for the aircon to help dry the air and remove the smell but it was broken. We were promised that it would be fixed the same day. It was not fixed. That night it rained and the roof leaked several places, hence the mold and therefore the smell. Another room was never offered even though we mentioned something right away about the smell.

I loved working with the staff. The personalized attention to the guests needs was exceptional! The food is the best I have eaten in Lilongwe. The only thing that could be improved is the wifi access. It was very unreliable and I had to ho purchase my own mifi To be able to work

Having to travel to Lilongwe for business I looked for a hotel with superior service and comfort and am pleased to say Kumbali hit the mark. The staff were extremely polite and responsive to requests. They were proactive in every manner. The managers took the time to address me by my name. The rooms were very large and comfortable. We took advantage of the airport transport and used their car service a few times, which was timely and safe. The food service was also good. Best of all while this would be a great place for a vacation, as I was on business the WiFi service was perfect. Fast and reliable.

Magnifique hôtel à l'architecture soignée : un lieu unique dans un site magnifique, au contact de la nature et des animaux, avec une très belle atmosphère, loin des bruits de la capitale. Le Kumbali est aussi une ferme et un ranch. Un parc permet de faire de très belles balades et on peut aussi se promener dans le village voisin. Excellente table, l'une des meilleurs du pays, avec des produits de la ferme. Les chambres sont spacieuses, confortables et donnent toutes sur le jardin. Personnel très compétent et extrêmement aimable, qui vous accueille véritablement. Service de transfert pour l'aéroport.

Really wonderful lodge. Great facilities, tasty fresh food & wonderful staff. If you have to travel through Lilongwe I could not think a better place would be available

Beautiful property outside the city; enjoyed the ride through the village and surrounding area before moving into the chaos of Lilongwe. Food was spectacular

I enjoyed my stay tremendously. Everyone one exceptionally kind and helpful. The bed was beautifully comfortable and I relaxed in the large the bathtub. My room was too close to the car park and noise was a little much, although there are many other rooms that are further away. The grounds were a treat to experience and the restaurant had the best home made yogurt, feta and coffee. The organic vegetable are worth the trip all the way from California.

Kumbali Lodge is a true retreat in Malawi, the warm heart of Africa. It's about a 30-40 minute drive from the airport (with traffic), and part of the drive traverses a traditional village over a bumpy dirt road. The lodge is situated on 200 acres of some of the most beautiful land in Malawi; very private and serene. Individual rooms are attached, but interiors resemble chalets with high ceilings and thatched roofs. Fans in every room. Electricity and water are reliable; something I've never expected or found in other lodging in Malawi. The food is a real treat. We looked forward to dinner every night. Dinners run $25 for a 3-course meal, and it's worth every penny. Breakfast is included, and is cooked to order or you can choose from the buffet. Don't miss the yoghurt, which is made from their on-site dairy farm. The team at Malawi went above and beyond to make sure that our group of 7 had everything that we needed. Tipping is done at the end of your stay so that everyone can be rewarded (including groundskeepers, etc.) . We tipped heavily because the service was - truly - exceptional.

This was our second visit,as good as the first two years ago. Guy and Maureen are very welcoming as are the rest of the staff, a great atmosphere and beautiful surroundings made our visit to Malawi very special.
